I just saw this. You guys are all so nice. I really appreciate the kind words! I already feel guilty enough about forcing my stuff down y'all's throats so I don't think I could live with the shame of having my own thread though. I think there's a concert photography thread somewhere that I should probably post in instead but what the hell. I want you guys to see them!
We don't mind you forcing your stuff down our throats. Seriously though, I love your photos and I would love to see more of them.
i could make a very inappropriate comment. but i'm not going to do it.
I had an amazing time in Asheville this weekend. Every show was just so good, and Moog was put together really well I thought. I didn't get to meet any Inforooer's because of being occupied with my buddies I went down with, and visiting old friends in Asheville. I did see Phi in his suit making his way through the crowd at Shpongle and yelled at him but he was long gone.
Top 5 for me: 1. Four Tet 2. Squarepusher (his visuals and bass literally nauseated me, but I still just loved every minute of it) 3. Orbital 4. Death Grips (what a rowdy quacking show!) 5. everything else =). seriously though, every show I saw was great. Every act seemed to have perfect sound and lighting.
I thought I met you ???
I don't think so. Unless I had an imposter ha. I only saw all the pandas once when I was at Divine Fits watching from the top level I saw a bunch of y'all towards the front of the crowd. And then I saw Phi. I don't remember meeting any inforooer's though. I wanted to. After seeing all the pics I really wish I'd ditched my friends for a few hours and gone to the brunch. I just didn't really have my own transportation.
can we make the pandas permanent and if so I needs me one of them hats maybe two
I would love to see panda hoods be the inforoo identifier. I'd certainly wear mine to every fest and it would be cooling knowing when you saw these hoods that it was an inforooer, kinda like the shirts, but better.

Im really so flattered that everyone loved the hoods so much I'm happy to make more for anyone who want's in on that action! And as far as making something for Roo that isn't a fleece-lined hood - I've already got a couple ideas in the pipeline.

I doubt I'll be able to make it to Roo next year, but I would definitely rock panda hood at Coachella (at night, anyway) or ACL/FFF.
I kinda regret not really saying hi to any of you guys as I was pretty occupied as well. There's always next year I suppose. Though I WAS near Panda HQ at the DTI. I do vaguely remember accepting whiskey from someone once so much thanks to whoever that was and sorry for being a recluse. I had crazy fun though.
BTW strangest thing of the weekend- seeing Death Grips in Cold Stone Creamery.

Now that I am a day away from it, I can safely say that Andy Stott -> Trust -> Orbital is one of the most amazing things that has ever happened in my live music watching career. They were all so insanely good.

Long story short: We were drinking on the balcony outside our room Friday night. Richard walks up and starts talking to us. He trades a red votive candle for a beer. He then proceeds to creep out everyone and almost murdered Airline in the room. We decide it's time for him to go. He disagrees by saying "It's either this way or that way." Cpk calls bullsh*t and physically removes him from the premises. Rdk and Cpk go up to some other non-inforoo people's room 10 minutes later. Richard is there creeping everyone out. One of the girls there forcibly removes him from the room. The next day, we see the sketch above in the paper of a rapist in Asheville. We all decide it was Richard. Inforoo legend #3,409 is born.
Also, Andy Stott was ridiculous, NoD. Make sure you catch him if he comes anywhere near you.

Someone needs to make a gif of Teasley/SFA doing his Bobblehead Richard impression when asked what the Indian design was on his shirt that looked like a band: "It is what it is."

Incredible weekend. Sorry I didn't see much of you guys, but I was there with old friends I only get to see once or twice a year. I was also too hungover to function during most of the Saturday daylight hours. I didn't stick to my schedule AT ALL, but no regrets.
Favorite sets were Primus, Death Grips, Nas, Four Tet, Divine Fits, and Pantha. The partial sets I saw by Orbital and Blondes were really good, too, even though I may have vomited a little on the AMH bar during the latter. GZA was solid, but he kind of phoned it in.
Anybody else think the lines seemed longer this year? I waited a long time to get into GZA and Blondes. AMH looked packed for Disclosure.
i have nothing but good things to say. moogfest is easy to navigate and you get to see rare bands in small venues. i did not witness a bad set the entire weekend. i forgot work the whole day on friday (this is saying so much for me, i always text my asst when i am gone asking her how the school day is going). i danced so much my feet are still hurting and i also saw some of my favorite shows of the weekend sitting down in a small theater. to be honest i am not really a camper (i don't really mind it if its not 1000 degrees), i just put up with it b/c i love bonnaroo. in the end i would say this fest is perfectly designed for me.
top five sets of the weekend: -{exit music.} seriously fantastic, saw them at the diana wortham theater. the girl is in boardwalk empire, so random. they blew my mind. -{orbital.}let's be real here. they played doctor who. -{andy stott.} this felt like what bob moog would really consider electronic music. once again in the diana wortham theater, just him and his machines plus a big black backdrop. pretty sick. -{trust.} i have actually never listened to trust and went there on the group's recommendation. tiny club, so many pandas. so much fun. -{blondes.} same club as trust, did not stop dancing.
(honorable mention: ana sia.)
justice.
gnomes!
pandas take over asheville.
exit music.
this past weekend was certainly one of the best times i've had in my life. not only is asheville as a city great, but the festival was superb and i got to spend time with people that i love so much. the fact that the moog/bonnaroo/ac people/ashley capps acknowledged us as a force in the musical community was just a cherry on top of an already perfect time. i will definitely be back next year.

The Asheville Music Hall had some CRAY shiz going on during that show... that might have been the highlight of the night for me, not in a musical level, just ... being there lol.
Another thing that made that moment awesome... when I got out of Squarepusher and met up with my friend who was waiting around after Primus, we went straight to AMH as planned... HUGE line. As I approached I was exclaiming "holy shit this line is HUGE... this line is to see Blondes???". Everyone was like "yeah...", so in like a state of disappointment I leaned up against a car in front of the door and was like "damn, that really sucks...". One of the bouncers comes up to me, leans close to my ear and I thought he was bout to tell me to go away or stop leaning on the car... he actually whispers in my ear "go to the back of the venue, there's an entrance with a shorter line, but don't tell anyone"... fucking SCORE! Got in, got some beers, found the free water, and... shit hit the fan in a good way. Such a classic turn of events.
Like I said before, it was like a perfect domino effect of circumstance that made that night that much more awesome.
