Hey,
I was just looking at last years lineup and I am super bummed I didn't make my way to this festival, it looked really sweet. If it's close to the same high quality lineup they have had in previous years, I think it's a must do this October.
Has anyone gone to the Moogfest in previous years? Thoughts in terms of atmosphere, the venue(s), capacity, the overall feel of it?
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Moogfest rocks. Asheville rocks. You CANNOT go wrong @ this fest... unless you hate music, beer, laid-back, bohemian attitudes, and tasty noms on every corner. Asheville is Beer City, USA! If you think the festival is amazing, wait until you go drinking. You won't want to leave.
This festival is so consistently strong that people will buy tickets blind, lonnnnnng before the lineup drops. And despite having multiple venues where you walk between them, you don't feel tired because it's not hot. Trust all of us who've been: you owe it to yourself to go. You won't regret it!
*Edit: since they've been working on new music, I could see Depeche Mode there. My dream lineup also includes The Cure, New Order, Morcheeba, Trentemøller, Porcupine Tree, and VAST. Oh, and if Bryan Ferry would get Roxy Music back together, I'd... probably miss the show because I'd be passed out from the shock.

If Aphex Twin or Spiritualized ever show up on the bill I'm there 100%. Either way I'm gonna hit this up within the next couple years, the lineups are made for my taste

Moog might possibly my favorite festival or perhaps it was just my favorite because of all the awesome inforoo people there. But really I got to experience so much, the area is beautiful, I wasn't struggling with the heat, and I got to see almost every show I wanted to (little dragon had to cancel and I missed flylo because it was packed and i was at Zomby).

Probably the favorite overall experiences I have ever at at a fest; Rothbury 2008 is close. Moogfest is great and because its during Halloween the weather is chilly but nicer than 90 degrees with 100% humidity. The lineup each year thus far has been spectacular as well. Asheville speaks for itself.
I'll be going every Halloween that they have the fest.
