Last year was my first also, but I'm not subscribing to the theory that it's either/or in this situation. I think the -right- amount of rain would be perfect. That's asking too much, so I'll just try to be prepared for either. Waiting for the weather reports is just another antagonizing effect of the wait for the Roo!
Unless it's a mudaroo like 04'. That's a toss up. I ended up walking barefoot the whole weekend.
Was it legendary? do you have war stories to share? are there mud fights? mud wrestling? mud dancing? I would be really disappointed if there was no mud shenanigans..
timb0nic -- were you awake for the brief storm on Saturday night? it was heaven! i loved the sunny skies even though the heat was killer. i'm from vermont where there's mountains everywhere so the big flat stretches of land and wide open sky blow my mind. i wouldn't mind a little rain either though
That was pretty much how it looked from Saturday to Sunday. Walking under the Arch to see The Dead it looked like the scene from Blazing Saddles where they destroyed the fake Rockridge.
It wasn't that bad but I don't wish it to happen again anytime soon. I'd like a light rain to wet everything and keep the dust down. That would be perfect for me.
I'll admit it - I'm a complete wimp. I HATE the mud...almost ruined it for me one year. A couple of light rains are nice, but for the most part, I like to be dry!
sugarhigh -- what rain boots do you prefer? I have thick calves -- I see some on target that look like they are adjustable but I don't know how comfortable they are for long-distance walking or if they are blister prone. do you have any recommendations?

I also have Target rain boots and they are pretty wide around the calves - like flopping around my legs wide, but I do have skinny legs. I always wear long socks with them to avoid blisters.
I have never really experienced much mud at Roo and don't really want to...... I can handle the dust just fine!
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

have you looked at rain boots by size? i know some come in wide which may give you more room around the calves.
in my perfect world i'd have a little bit of light rain to calm the dust but otherwise lots of beautiful sunshine with a few passing clouds. that would be great bonnaroo weather.
