Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
you'll love it.i'm 46, my bud is 50, and my uncle went last year w/ us at 59 . it has to be one of the best places on earth. this will be my 7th roo and since the first time we went we said we are there going till they dont have it no more or we're dead.
Thanks Rvicke for starting this back again- I tried to get a meet up going the last two years and I think intentions are good and we have a fine time chatting on this thread, but never seems to work out. Would be willing to try again- maybe I need to get a bigger sign or perhaps we could just agree to meet at the Inforoo brunch and all bring canes and walkers and diapers (joking). If anyone has any ideas, I'd be open to it. Still have a bunch of O'er 40 Rooer buttons and beads. It would be great to get together and drink some fine wine that the mature crowd can appreciate.
I am going alone this year on purpose. The reason is to meet some of you guys. I will be staying in Camp inforoo and watching the board for meeting plans.
I am a married man with a great wife who does not enjoy the same love of music festivals as I do, but supports my desire to go.
Like you guys I also wish to brag about being over 40 (+10years). My dad is 82 and for the last 23 years since retirement has been running a Flee market store in Knoxville. He opens when its 30 deg or 90 deg and runs it himself. I am hoping I have his energy at 82. If I do Maybe I will be Still Rooing. haha

By the time the farm rolls around, I will be one month shy of 60. I am taking 5 teenagers with me to Manchester ! No other adults are coming since the wife decided she would sit this one out. Therefore, I am looking for board sympathy and free beer ! Last year I had my wife with me and 9 teenagers. I'm trying to figure out which is worse, 1 and 5 or 2 and 9 lol !
OK it's a month from Bonnaroo and I'm getting that pre-Bonnaroo tingly goosebump excited feeling that gets in the way of work. Let's try this again... Send me a personal msg if you are wanting to meet up- I will mail you some beads and a button (providing I have enough) and will get your phone no. At least we can identify who wants to meet as part of a group and then I'll text you all a place we can meet. (anybody willing to host a party if they are Rv'ing- we are tenting and I don't mind hosting but may be easier with an RV) I'll see if I can figure out how to get a Facebook page just for us over 40 Roo'ers- maybe if we can see each other beforehand and get too know each other, there will be more incentive to meet. And here's more incentive- will bring some Hoosier Mama Bloody Mary's to share with all of you

Personal msg sent...we would be willing to host (two EZ-UPS) but probably only 2 - 4 chairs....else we are super great hosts....
Looking forward to meeting everyone....was sad I couldn't find it last year.
Happy roo
Rick
PS: I understand the anxious part....I'm even finding myself logging into Inforoo from work....just let the wristband come in, and I'll be worthless until the farm......
I'm a Roo virgin at 54. My GF is 50 and she was there last year. I'm expecting quite an eye opening experience.
Welcome to roo....it is unlike any other event I have been to (although I'm thinking Wakarusa is probably similar, as it is an 'on-site' event like roo).
It's a community who will (except for a stray here or there) welcome you with open arms regardless of age, as we all share a love of music, adventure, and community....if only the rest of the world was like roo....
I know this may not be the right thread to ask this but I feel comfortable asking this particular group: My girlfriend was planning to attend but is having a lot of back problems- she is having surgery in July. She really wants to go to Bonnaroo but is unsure if she can make the long walks and get through the heat of the day. Would anyone have an RV with air conditioning so that she could rest during the day and then go to the evening concerts. We would be willing to pay something to make up for the cost of air conditioning. Thanks.
cranelady, i wish i could help you out with the rv but i'm just going in my car. have you tried any of the rv threads? there seem to be a lot of them....maybe someone over there could help you guys out. my sister can't ever attend with me for the same reason-she has back issues and can't be on her feet that long. i hope you BOTH make it down this year!
I'm sure you could get a spot in the handicap accessible section (would be close to centeroo), but the heat would still be a problem.
In 2009 I went and was only 6 months out of major knee surgery (reattach three tendons from the quadriceps to the knee).....I just went slow and took very small steps...particularly across the river (er, ditch). No problems, people just walked around me.

Thanks for the suggestion- I'll look there- thanks for your other comments. She will be able to get a handicap pass if she goes. We were also trying to come up with a way of putting together a portable mister inside the tent
Party of two here sort of: One over 60 and the other young lady is under 50 so we belong to the Krew. This is going to be fun. We do have a hitch hiker if we can squeeze him in. This will be his first Roo. Please welcome RooMuse. cr****
Thanks, rvicke! I wasn't happy about turning 40, but I figure... hey, I can still move it just like the kiddo's (and can probably out party them too ).
If all goes as planned, I will see you at the sonic cafe Thurs. night!!
