I'm curious about some of ya'lls hunch/party punch recipes. I'm thinking about making a few gallons of some John Daly kind of thing to bring in this year. What do you guys make beforehand and keep cold to enjoy all weekend, keeping in mind the heat?
I just wrote this recipe the other night with Mr. John Daly in mind. I'm gonna unleash it on Tents Only in 2012 and see how many of us can get arrested at once.
BonnaBrew
2 gallon jugs drinking water bunch of tea bags shove tea in jugs, set in scorching TN sun, Wed-Thurs
Remove bags, add home-made, pre-prepped, ginger-infused simple syrup, shake ya ass. Pour buttload of good bourbon over plenty of ice, top with sweet tea. Garnish with lemon and sprig of mint growing like weed in the backyard. Blammo.

Holy cheese thats sounds yummy! I usually bring a batch of homemade Sangria in a 2 gallon pitcher loaded with fruit to munch on while drinking.. Yummy cold during the afternnon siesta!

Sangria in a 10 gallon gatorade cooler is my staple.
Bloody Mary's of your choice are also a good idea.
Me and my friends made a bomb ass 5 gallon punch back in 2007... after day one, ants found their way from the ground, to the bed of my buddies truck, and into the "sealed" 5 gallon keg/bucket.
Use dry ice in the punchbowl for a) carbonation and b) epic presentation! It's all foggy and poop, we do it for halloween with a lime jello drink and it looks amazing

Whoreshack- That sounds delicious but I used to make sun tea back in the day and we were always told it was an excellent way to grow bacteria so I stopped making it a while ago. Do you think the alcohol would nullify that?? I have no clue.
Bisontrax- Another cool idea. Dry ice does cool things with oranges and apples too. And the foggy "Roo Brew" sounds sick.

"Spring Water". 1 mason jar, 1 half lemon, 1 cup vodka, fill the rest with sun drop soda. Seal the jar and set in the sun for the day. Refrigerate, squeeze out the lemon in the drink and enjoy. Beware: you get drunk. My friend from Nashville gave us this last year and it's already become kind of a summer staple.
-or-
Jungle Juice. 5 Gallon Gatorade container. Whatever juice/fruit/liquor you can handle.
We successfully did Hawaiian fruit punch, OJ, Pineapple juice, vodka, tequila, rum, and triple sec (possibly some whiskey but for some reason I don't remember) along with chopped up watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew, pineapple, bananas, grapes, and strawberrys. Somewhere around $90 with bottom shelf liquors and the fruits and juices and we kept a part going all night. Best part is the end when you eat all the fruit and complete drunkenness ensues.
Edit: I asked my fiance, and was informed that when all the 'Juice' was gone, we added whiskey and a liter of 7-up, because we had no other options. drank it. then ate the fruit. delicious.

Have any of you heard of the "Green Dragon"? It's corn-infused liquor/soda/whatever your into. I've been experimenting with this all year and finally got a potent good tasting recipe. I usually make a very condensed batch and add it in my jungle juice. I don't think i can list the ingredients here without breaking the rules so google it if you are unaware i'll bring some to brunch if anyone wants to get down

OK I'm fascinated by this idea but I have a couple of questions.
I have crap loads of 1qt Mason Jars and easy access to the rest of the ingredients. When you say "seal" in reference to mason jars it makes me think "hermetically seal" like the way you would use the jars to pasteurize and preserve, bringing the contents of the jar to 160F for about 60-90 minutes creating a vacuum seal between the lid and the jar.
Are you saying do that then set it in the sun? Or are you saying just screw the lid on (seal it) and set it in the sun?
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

To make sun tea, yeah you screw the lid down tight and set the container in the sun. I've always done it with clear water jugs. I would imagine that the mason jar seal wouldn't effect the end results.

for spring water: you just put the lid on tight. no need for canning, but you want the internal temps to go up and it sometimes will retain carbonation from the sun drop (which imo is better)

Traditionally, I pick up several 20 oz bottles of faygo (peach, orange, redpop, rock n rye), drink the top portion out of each and then refill with booze of choice. Then you've got red drank, peach drank, and orange drank. Perfect for cheap truckers like myself.
This year I'm going to pretend I'm an adult. I'm thinking about brewing several gallons of iced tea beforehand, and then also making infused vodkas (strawberry, peach, citrus, etc.) and then putting them in labeled plastic bottles to add to pre-brewed iced tea as necessary. (these can also be real rad for bloodies, since you can infuse almost any flavor)
This is probably the nearest towards the Jungle Juice recipe and will make up to 20 gallons. Use dry ice to keep it cold and stirred up. 1 L Everclear® alcohol 5.25 L(3 1.75L bottles) vodka 1 bottle peach schnapps 1 pint Bacardi® 151 rum 1 bottle 99 Apples® apple schnapps 10 L Sprite® soda 1 L Sunny Delight® orange juice 1 L triple sec 1.75 Lbottle gin 1 bottle DeKuyper® Sour Apple Pucker schnapps 4 bottles Boone's Farm® Strawberry Hill wine 8 L Hawaiian Punch® 2 containers orange juice concentrate fruit (as much as desired)
Use a large container ie. ice chest or similar. Allow the fruit to soak in all the alcohol for about 4 - 12 hours. Add all the juice, let sit overnight, and have a great quaking time
OK, normally I am a catty b!tch with all my recipes, but I will drop one of my recipes on you guys. Gallon-O-Margarita
3 pt. (48 oz.) blanco tequila (get the 100% blue agave type) 2.5 c. (20 oz.) triple sec 2.5 c. (20 oz.) fresh squeezed lime juice 2.5 c. (20 oz.) fresh squeezed lemon juice 1 pt. (16 oz.) 1:1 simple syrup (heat equal parts (2 c. each, you'll have a little left over) water and sugar on medium, stirring constantly. As soon as sugar dissolves, remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.)
Add all ingredients to a clean plastic gallon jug, shake well, chill. To serve, fill up a cup with ice cubes and fill with mix.
