Hello all, I searched through the threads and didn't see one of these yet, anyways this will be my third roo and I'm bringing some newbies with this time, one of which has a petty bad peanut allergy. I was just curious if anyone knew what the vendors used for their food (I assume they use peanut oil but I'm not sure) or any other things to avoid/ supplement. Any help would be great, thanks rooers and cant wait to see you all on the farm!
I'm sure if your friend uses the same precautions like they do at home they will be fine. I would assume that they know enough to ask questions before purchasing food.

I would stay away from the Thai places.
Plus I am sure more of the vendors use vegetable oil when cooking, it's cheaper. Worst case, ask the vendor, I am sure they know. At least they should. If I am not mistaken Bonnaroo has pretty good rules and guidelines in order to get a vendor booth, it's those ones that are set up out of some one's campsite you need to watch out for.
Throwing some Benadryl in your first aide kit isn't a bad idea either.
I vaguely remeber some vendors posting allergy info but what was said before is certainly a good point I have to eat gluten free so I surf for grub accordingly...but that being said gluten isnt as bad as a nut allergy so i would maybe contact the good folks at bonnaroo maybe they have a vendor list so you can do your homework before hand.
I suggest your friend wears or carries something on him to show he has an allergy in case of an emergency. He should also keep and Epipen on him at all times along with a list of emergency contacts and the name and contact info of at least one other person at your camp. Other than that he should take the same precautions that he does everyday when he's out in public.
