Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
On your debbie downer friend, it's also important to note the incredible things Roo can do to a person.
I came with a friend who I had always assumed was pretty silver-spoon and wasn't sure how well she would handle the experience. I was blown away! I saw this super rugged, positive side of her I'd never really seen before. We bonded so hard that weekend.
i sincerely hope that happens as well he is the most aw shucks guy but the only friend i have that can afford the journey and ticket and has his moments of being cool lol
On that note how much time did you all spend with the people you came with did you all go to the same shows or split up allot/
Sure, fly a flag. But like others have said, plot your site and a map and look for landmarks so you don't get lost later at night whilst loaded.
You personally don't have to fly a flag. There will be plenty to choose from among your neighbors. Pick the most notable one, and figure out what intersection your camp is closest to. There are actual street signs. My first Roo I went to catch some music and totally underestimated how much everything looks alike. One of the more amusing things to do on Thursday night is watch people wandering around with no idea where they are going. If you don't know your nearest intersection you may as well give up.

I stayed with my group (myself and 2 others) about 80% of the time. I stayed in centeroo alone after they had gone to bed (best decision everrr) and I did leave them to hang out with another friend for a few hours. I think everyone should experience at least a little bit of roo alone.
I say get your friend on inforoo so he can get pumped up, too!

I've been sending my friend who is coming along for the first time links to great threads on here, like "Best non-music moment" and "lost charlie 2006" and after she's done peeing herself with laughter she is a thousand times more excited about Roo than before! In fact we spent our whole road trip this weekend planning for it. I second this, it's a great idea!
This is a really really important thing considering it's your first time at a fest. Spend a decent amount of time figuring out exactly where you are camped and the best way to get back to it. Bonnaroo covers a lot of space so you may be a decent hike from Centeroo and at night it can look quite a bit different. Especially, if you are in some sort of altered state.
This can't be said enough, it's bigger than you realize! I've said this in a couple of threads but at my first Roo I found that my hand held GPS was absolutely invaluable. I was able to always find my way back to camp (its original intent), and being able to locate any areas I'd previously found interesting. But the most unexpected and super handy feature was that if someone in the group just absolutely had to pee or wanted to get a beer we'd mark our spot, hand them the GPS, and stay where we were enjoying the show. In a crowd of 20,000 people, without the GPS we'd either have to loose our spot or just say goodbye to that person for the rest of the evening. I am a huge fan of the cheap stand alone handheld GPS. It definitely enhanced our experience.

Well our camp consisted of about 10 people and only the two girls I traveled down with were together pretty much non-stop. We all would meet up randomly at a show but it was nice doing our own thing.

Our group stayed together for about 60% of the time and then we would split off for certain shows and meet back later. That is usually how it works with the people I go with, but it's a small group and we are all fine with going off and doing our own thing.

You schould expect to see people of all walks of life act just like Will Farrel in Elf when they anounce that santa is comming tommorrow "SANTA I KNOW HIM !!!!" . The only difference will be they are discussing a set they just saw or going to see. As well as the HUMIDITY, the DUST, and finnally the MIND BLOWING amount of great people you WILL meet. And last but not least of all the lines YOU WILL be in if you bought a GA ticket . Enjoy your self at a PACE this is a journey not a race.
