Okay so i just got my ticket and everything and have been reading this forum and soaking up as much info i can but seriously i feel like i'm taking newbie to a whole new level having never been to a festival so is there anything that i should kknow that is basic knowledge like what to expect how big are campsites what are people like how does the ay kinda go like when do concerts start thursday or friday? what do you do? how much are you at camp? when should i show up? just all that basic stuff i assume you all already know haha[/b]
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Hey man glad you can join in on the experience! I know it sounds really tedious, and i am not one to talk because i want everything spoon fed to me. But literally all of these questions are answered in different threads you just got to look.
The best part of looking through all the threads is you'll realize stuff you haven't even thought of. Or just get advice in general that you think you'll use.
I'll try to answer your questions with very short answers though you should look through everything
1) What to expect? Expect Epicness, i mean beyond you're thoughts epicness 2) How Big are Campsites? Usually just around your car. you don't want to be invading other people's space, but if you're polite about it and need a little room i'm sure neighbors will help out. 3)What are people like? The nicest most friendly, down to earth, greatest people ever. Seriously talk to everyone because no one will be impolite (hopefully) 4) When do concerts start thursday or friday? Thursday is when it begins but they normally aren't real big acts and don't go till early early morning. Headliners are friday-saturday 5) What do you do? Literally anything you can think of as long as you are not intruding on other people. Seriously there is tons of things to do you won't be bored 6) How much are you at camp? Depends, you can go back as often as you like or stay in centeroo. Being at camp has advantages such as napping, staying out of the sun, getting refreshed. While staying in centeroo has advantages as well (you're standing in a utopia) 7) When should i show up? Last year they started letting people in on wednesday. Try and get there as early as possible because there will be a huge traffic line of cars waiting to get in. Don't get discouraged when you see this though. Have a good attitude and remember it will all be worth it.
That's my two cents. Hope that helped But seriously take the time to go through all the threads and survival guides. You won't regret it and will learn a ton for you're first trip to the farm.
Welcome to the board alexzeto, and, as everyone else has said, feel free to search the board for additional info. There is a wealth of knowledge here, much of it gleaned through trial and error, so you can avoid the errors on your first trip

Congratulations and welcome. You are in for an amazing experience at Roo and it can be the good kind of amazing. I can also tell you that you will find a lot of helpful information in the threads. But if you are asking questions like this after "soaking up as much info as you can" you are either not doing it right or your soaker is on the fritz. And you will run into some snarkier responses than this. Keep soaking.

They usually say 10x10 for the campsite. But it might be more or less (sometimes way more or less) depending on the parking attendants, neighbors camp size and whether you are on the outside (like an aisle seat at the movies). Be creative with your space and you will be fine.
To try to answer some other questions: Do whatever you want (as long as it doesn't bother others). That is one of the greatest things about Bonnaroo. Most things are okay and you can do as little or as much as you want.
Bands start late afternoon on Thursday, so spend Thursday getting to know the lay of the land, where the stages are, where good food is. Scope out potential shade, the best portapotties, etc. If you do this on Thursday, you will be very grateful on Friday when there are a ton of bands you want to see, all on different stages and you won't have to search around.
See some bands you don't have on your list. If you see a big crowd, stop and check it out. Some of my favorite shows I discovered by just seeing big crowds and sticking around for a few minutes.
Go to some sonic stage shows. You will thank yourself. Also, don't overlook the lounge acts. In a few years some of those bands will be mid-carders or better.
Eat even if you are too hot to eat. Drink even if you are not thirsty (not too much adult beverages).
People are cool, so talk to neighbors, people at the shows, or in lines. You'll meet some interesting characters that make for good stories. It is easy to have a good time. Bonnaroo is what you make it, so have a good time.
This is a really really important thing considering it's your first time at a fest. Spend a decent amount of time figuring out exactly where you are camped and the best way to get back to it. Bonnaroo covers a lot of space so you may be a decent hike from Centeroo and at night it can look quite a bit different. Especially, if you are in some sort of altered state.

This! Every year, I take a few minutes to figure out where I am on the map and how to get to my campsite from the road. Make sure you get it down because finding your camp at 4am is much harder than finding it during the day.
Other Inforooers may not agree with me, but I was so completely high and blindsided from the sheer surreality of the experience that I was sober about 90% of the time. Didn't touch any of the beer I brought and ate corn probably twice.
This year I will be better prepared to get quacked up but it's so far removed from reality, you probably won't need much in terms of party favors
thanks for the advice i read a few places about making a flag have you guys done that good idea or waste of time i thought it might just be fun and attract people to hang out with ha
hmm I planned on bringing allot of party favors but maybe i'll scale back on those but thenagain what i don't use i can share haha i plan chilling with others because i'm just going with my one friend and he is a bit of a debby downer

Going with a debby downer SUCKS. Luckily Bonnaroo is the easiest place in the world to make friends. Hopefully he'll loosen up a bit and enjoy the experience. Bonnarule #1: It's YOUR experience, don't let your friend(s) drag you down. You don't want to look back on the weekend and regret missing acts/experiences you wanted to see.
