As many of you may recall, last year when I discovered the line-up, many of you promised me a beer. However, I did not receive many; I don't blame you, I was hard to find. In another thread I proposed that I wear a shirt this year which read "Bonnaroo Detective." This would make me easy to identify for beer delivery. However, some savvy roosters suggested they may also wear "Bonnaroo Detective" shirts as well, so as to steal my beers.
And thus, the "Where's the Detective?" game was born.
It's kind of like Where's Waldo, but also different.
As you try to find me, many Inforoosters will be encouraged to wear "Bonnaroo Detective" shirts and try to fool you. Those wearing Detective shirts may seek me out as well. I will announce a means by which to authenticate that it is the real Detective when we get closer to June.
If you find me, do not feel obligated to give me a beer, that's just the premise for the game, but I wouldn't mind. I'm sure I will return your gratitude.
If you would like to be a fake Detective, and try steal my beers, drop an e-mail to "Bonnaroo.Detective@gmail.com" or message me with your e-mail address. Women may feel free to play Detectives, even though the Detective is openly male (no shame here), as to keep with the spirit of the game. I'm sure this will also serve as a great way to identify other inforoosters. If enough people are interested, we may purchase Detective shirts in bulk, and you can have yours shipped to you. If you are interested in this, please note as such in your e-mail. But making your own is equally as good, who knows what the real shirt will look like?

Haha, no. But only because a beanie would be much too hot. I suppose that it could be a whole outfit though . . . like a shirt, bandanna, and sunglasses or something. In fact, that is what I wear (for those of you that saw me on the History Channel, you have an advantage).

Yea, we'll see. I figure if they take the time to e-mail me then they might really follow through with it. Frankly, you can do it even if you don't e-mail me, I just wanted to keep people coordinated and make sure that some people were interested. And I've already got a fake Detective!
^you could make cafepress shirts and then everyone can buy one so they will all be the same... and if lazy/unartistic people dont feel like making one ;D

Yes, last year The History Channel (or as I like to call it, The HC) did a feature on Bonnaroo during a segment of their "My Generation" series. This particular segment was about Woodstock, and in the last ten minutes or so they discussed Bonnaroo as potentially being the moder equivalent. They followed me and my family around and interviewed us for the segment. I was probably on there for all of 3 or 4 minutes. The best part is, I got face time in a segment that also contained Warren Haynes!

Considering there are nearly 5000 inforoosters, and probably twice as many lurkers, we could have a lot of people hunting for me. I'm hoping we get a lot of detectives, that's what will make it interesting.
This man came up to me just the other day, asked me I'd been born again. I told him, "I didn't think I had." That I had been rejected. But I think, Hell's got all the good bands anyway. And Bonnaroo.
