I have a app for a cell phone locator on my and I couldnt find my phone so my boyfriend looked it up and it was in my car. I know we weren't using specifically to find the car but indirectly we did. It also has a feature that lets out a loud scream(its loud!!!!) so if you were with someone who could leave their phone in the car you could use it as a beacon to find your car.
