This is my 2nd Roo - last year my husband and I went VIP and got the food plan. By the end of Roo last year we were sure it wasn't worth it. In the mean time I've had Gastric Bypass surgery and since I wasn't paying close attention to the vendors last year I was wondering if there are a lot of lean, low fat, high protein foods available through the vendors or if I should pack my own food.
I was also wondering if anyone has had the surgery and could give me some first hand info from their own perspective.

No, no, and no. Let's face it, most of the food there is not good for you. By the end of 4 days, I want a salad so bad I'm ready to start gnawing on a tree. Bring your own goodness, and supplement it with a small amount of roo food.

Magnificent- my mom has had gastric bypass, and I just asked her what you should bring to the farm, and she said go to bariatriceating.com or unjury.com and there's all kinds of pre-mixed stuff you can order that's good for weekends away from refrigerators.
There is a SMALL amount of healthy-ish vendor food around (I think Planet Roo has some good, organic eats), but you should certainly pack your own foodstuffs.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I had Lap Band two years ago. You can find stuff, but it's not easy. Your best bet is to either share a little bit of whatever your hubby's having to get some variety and then bring along protein shakes for morning and bars for during the day to supplement your protein intake.
yeah the portion sizes at the vendors are pretty whoaaaa!! Even for the healthy-ish stuff the portions are huges if you and your husband could split the food you get from vendor that may be more plausible. But I would try to bring 90% pre-made pre-potioned things like pb&j samiches and granola nuts etc etc. good luck and great job!!!! I hope you are getting the results you are after!!!!!
All that said, don't worry too much about your weight loss during 'Roo. I eat like crap the entire weekend and usually end up losing 3-5 lbs just in sweat.
Premier Nutrition makes these high protein cookies (10 grams of protein and 150 calories per) that are pretty good and would make excellent 'Roo take along food. They're in the foil packs like the vending machine cookies. Their shakes saved me at breakfast time too. 30 grams of protein per shake. I'd down two of them between waking up and heading into Centeroo and have my minimum daily protein intake squared away before I got my day good started. Just make sure to keep your cooler well iced. Those things taste like ass when they're warm....

Thanks for all the help! I knew inforoo would have what I needed - all the tips we got here were the only reason we were at all prepared last year.
I don't think the hubbo will mind sharing with me - but I'll make sure I bring plenty of my own protein laden snacks just in case I have trouble tolerating the vendor food.
