Due to potential work schedule issues for me and several of my friends that are giong this year, we may have to seriously consider arriving Friday morning (around 9 - 11 AM). I have always arrived fairly early on Thursday and thus don't really know what to expect from this scenario.
For those of you who have arrived on Friday in the past, what is this expereince like with respect to line queue, camping spots, and general opinions?
Hopefully we can work it out so that this doesn't happen, but I'd like to test the waters from the group. Thanks for the input!
Camping is still a crapshoot. I usually arrive Friday morning and I was put in a spot 20 minutes away from Centeroo two years ago. Last year, I got there on Thursday and ended up on the same road further back. In 2008, I got there and was 10 minutes from Centeroo by the RVs. The only thing about Friday morning is it's usually not a super long wait to get through the checkpoints, but the earlier the easier. At 5 AM Friday, there was no wait. Ever. When the sun starts to come up, different story. You might have to wait an hour or two at 9-11 am, but I'm thinking that's worst case scenario.
My general opinion is that it's a decent way to avoid the bulk of the traffic and, unless you really want to see the Thursday night shows, you can live with yourself for missing them.
