This is where we stand through August.
They played another secret show a few days ago and Brooklyn Vegan posted a ton of video.
I saw they just posted this on Facebook a few hours ago.
So it starts: On monday we are boarding the flight to the states and then we are off to a crazy summer. The response has been overwhelming and a bit scary but we are thrilled that so many people are as excited about this as we are. The rehearsals have been amazing and the 2 "secret" shows have been nothing short of insane. Anyway, point being. We are really looking forward to doing, we are really looking forward to meeting everyone and to be able to play this music at this scale. Who would have thought 15 years ago? If you wanna follow me a little bit more personal and up close I suggest that you check out my personal page or my twitter account @lyxzenofficial. There I will try to guide you through this summer and also give you some thought on music and life. See u all in the pit! Love Dennis
It's just amazing how humble Dennis is after all these years. I'm always afraid of bands doing reunion shows/tours but they really seem to have it together.
I am seriously considering driving to Atlanta the day before the Refused show to catch Motörhead at that Mayhem Festival @ Aaron's Amphitheater. Only problem is that there are at least 7 of us going to Refused from Mobile, so I would need to talk at least two of them into doing it with me. I could be a butthole and tell them to find another ride, but I would really need someone to split a hotel with me so it's time to put on my convincing pants.

This. I've seen highly-anticipated reunions that have been all about the money (Smashing Pumpkins immediately comes to mind), but this seems more and more like it's going to be incredible. In fact, I still cannot believe this is happening.

Refused were incredible at Coachella. Being in the pit for Circle Pit was probably one of my best ever festival moments. I'm totally going to the Atlanta show now.

I have decided to skip the Atlanta show in light of getting a ticket to Saturday at Forecastle (Thanks Taco!). I had already bought my ticket to the Atlanta show. If anyone needs an extra, let me know.
Let me know if anyone wants a pit ticket for Mayhem tomorrow. My friend has some extra Refused tix too. People blowing it have the following excuses: (1) "it's my mom's 50th birthday" - wtf, and you realize this the day before? (2) "I think I have Crohn's disease" - that one is legit....poor duder (3) "I am going on tour with Daikaiju and will be in FL" - legit excuse (4) "I sold my truck and have a motorocycle now...can't drive up there sunday anymore because have to work monday" - (5) "I just can't afford to go" - bitch, you can pay him back later! (she backed out of Iron Maiden for the same reason and I called that this would happen here too)
3 extra tix for refused, but yeah...he bought 5 tix total like a dummy. 1 of those 5 is an old excuse and we found someone else to go who also made an excuse And one of those excuses was for mayhem and not refused (they're still going to refused but backed out of mayhem due to mom's 50th b'day)

Atlanta show was awesome. They sound like they've been touring these songs for the last 14 years. Lyxzen's vocals were dead-on, which tends to be the biggest snag when bands like this reunite. The lights added a lot, which isn't something I was really expecting.
The set was only 75 minutes, but I was fine with that. Their catalog is pretty small, and I'd wager at least 75% of the crowd doesn't know much outside of the last two full lengths. Padding the set out with deep cuts would have just hurt the momentum.
I've seen OFF! twice now, and that's plenty for the time being. Keith Morris has a lifetime pass, but I don't need to hear 20 minutes of banter in a 40 minute set.

Their light show was so good at Coachella. It wasn't flashy, but it definitely added to the mood of the songs.
I'm really sad that I'm unable to make any more of the shows this year. They're definitely my favorite show of the year so far (slightly ahead of Pulp) and I tell keep telling everyone I know that they should go see them even if they've never heard their music.
