Did a search and didn't find this anywhere. Was wondering what other people thought of this show?
Personally i started watching it because i am a consultant and work on a team so it piqued my interest. Not to mention Jon Ralphio and Kristen Bell are in it, who are extremly hilarious and extremely hot respectively.
I enjoyed the whole season, maybe not as much as other shows. But it was entertaining. My main problem with it was that it too often would be comedy and change scenes f in to this really dark drama. Which is cool because of the contrast, but seemed a little forced some times.
Second problem for me just was how ridiculous some of the business adventures were. It made me wish i was in a top tier consulting firm if that is really what is going on when you do client visits. All the ridiculous Raunchy Sex and Back stabbing, it basically made me realize what i should look for when i visit clients. (Some type of evil/ridiculous secret that i can leverage against people in order to gain large business contracts=millions of dollars!)
Overall though i did enjoy watching it. Characters were fairly likeable, story was easy enough to follow. And had enough nudity/sex/jokes/business technical speak for keep me interested.
I actually love House of Lies - unfortunately we lost our Showtime trial before I got to finish the first season. I'm dying to rent the dvd when it comes out.
Like you said though, it quickly shifts from comedy to some dark points (like Marty's inability to deal with his mother's suicide) and then jumps right back out of the issue, not explaining it as much as I would like. I think that alot of these topics will be dealt with later in the series though.
I love Kristen Bell's role - she's by far my favorite character. It really shows how alot of women have to become "men" in the workplace to climb the ladder - and she's so sexy doing it lol.
