Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I just recently found out about Bonnaroo(I know, under a rock), and really want to go, but I'm not sure about going alone. I'm not worried about safety(I'm a 6'6'' fairly well built guy; doubt anyone would try anything). I'm mainly just wondering if it's awkward to be at a massive festival like this alone. I'm really extroverted, though, so maybe it wouldn't be too bad.

Thoughts?
Welcome to the board by the way!! I've never gone alone, but last year our neighbor came alone, and that didn't last long. He spent his mornings under our shade hanging out, eating, drinking, and having a great time. When you go to Roo you're never alone! Hope to see you on the farm!
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

I went alone last year and had a great time...You quickly make friends even if you're not looking to. Everyone, or at least everyone I met, wants your Roo experience to be as good as their own...Possibly going alone this year too
Can't vouch for going alone. I pretty much separate from my group every year though. If they want to go see what I want when I want then he hang out. Otherwise it is a pretty mutual decision that we will go our own ways while in Centeroo. I would love to go by myself but I live 30 minutes away and work in restaurant in a city that houses the largest university in Tennessee. Hence, even if I tried to go alone I can not. Constantly running into people I know.

I'm going alone too - but I'm a 6'1", fit female - hopefully nobody's going to mess with me either I decided to volunteer - partially to help make it more economically possible, but also so I can be there a couple of days before Roo starts and hopefully meet a few like-minded people to socialize with before 80,000 people descend on the farm and it's pure madness. I'm really not worried about anything other than making the drive home after I'm exhausted from little to no sleep for a few days!

Hey where are you coming from? People all over the boards get caravans together and offer rides. I'd be willing to bet you could find some really awesome folks who wouldn't mind company! I know we are coming from GA, be down to give anyone a lift or just some company. That being said, I am looking forward to one year flying solo. I think I'll chill with Camp Inforoo.
In the four years I've gone, I've not seen one act of violence, cruelty, or theft; although that one dude referred to me as old-timer. Hah, how little he knows....

Listen, brothah...sometimes...going to a festival alone is THE BEST. No babysitting...no group decisions on what stage/music you wanna hit...seriously...and there are already a bunch of good people built in to the scene...making new (sometimes LIFELONG) friends is veeeeeeeeery easy...I've done festivals with huge groups, and some alone...I can't say one is better than the other, honestly...I ALWAYS have a good time...na matter who I'm with or not with... : )

Wow I can't believe you are just finding out about Bonnaroo! Great find on your part!
I have never gone alone but like others have said, you will be totally fine and will meet a lot of great people real quick. I would say get on your ticket purchase and prepare yourself for a great time (Like Christmas to an 8 year old Bonnaroo only comes once a year). Going through ones first Bonnaroo is an amazing experience and one I have been chasing the dragon with for 4 years now (not to say that every other year I have been back hasn't been awesome too).
Plenty of great threads throughout inforoo as well to prep you as well man. Welcome aboard

i have not gone to bonnaroo alone... but i have gone to other festies alone in the past (one of them was rothbury - not as big as the roo but i had to travel almost as far. 12 hours, roo is 14-16) you will always run into like minded peoples, no fears just do it... don't look back one day and say i could have, i should have, but i was afraid to
This is my 6th Roo. My first one I went alone, and now I'm going solo again. I think its more of a spiritual journey/adventure when you go alone. I'm volunteering this time, can't wait to see how it goes.

i went twice 1st with group of 8 in an RV = ton of fun 2nd time with random people i met on this board and hitched ride with them.
i had more fun the 2nd time with the randoms than i did with my own friends!!
go solo, you will not regret it. keep in mind you are never along, everyone at 'roo is so cool, friendly, chill, you will make friends easily and never feel alone. -sammy

It's also my first one and I'm going alone. Part of me wishes I had someone there to share the experience with, but the other part is glad I won't have anyone else to worry about.

I went alone in 2010 and I loved it. Going with my friends is always fun but there is just something about being completely free all weekend. I met some amazing people and did whatever I wanted. However, it was my third Roo so I knew what to expect, not sure if I'd recommend going alone to a first timer because it can be a little overwhelming! Don't let me discourage you though, if you're prepared then go for it!

Yeah, I bought a pair of tickets assuming I would recruit someone but the 6-day duration and cost have proven too much for my people. Therefore, I will be going it alone too. I was definitely a bit apprehensive being a first timer at Roo but the threads here have put me at ease and I think I am pretty well prepared. Should be nice to get away and meet new people. Now I just need to sell off my other ticket and/or possibly offer to rideshare since I have a large vehicle.
I'm going through the last minute should I or shouldn't I right now? I'd be going alone, I went to the first three roo's but have not been back. What to do what to do? I'm leaving from south florida if I go...
