I'm not sure how their performance will go over at a festival considering Trent described it more as an art installation than a traditional live concert.
Look at the 45 minute window between Grinderman and HTDA. I bet HTDA's setup will be pretty spectacular.
We might be overestimating the interest in HTDA. Their Pomona show has been on sale for over a month and it is still not sold out yet. The Fox Theater isn't that big (a couple thousand people capacity, I believe).

The band has been referencing how insane the setup is going to be. And it was built with Coachella in mind.
I'm not actually going, but if I were, this would be my schedule
Friday Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra -> Dam-Funk -> bit of Polica -> Stars -> bit of Johnny Marr -> Japandroids -> Four Tet -> bit of Dog Blood -> Yeah Yeah Yeahs -> Blur -> The Stone Roses
Saturday Reignwolf -> Trash Talk -> Birdy Nam Nam -> Baauer -> 2 Chainz -> El-P -> Hot Chip -> The Postal Service -> The xx -> New Order
Sunday Raider Klan -> Ghost B.C. -> JEFF The Brotherhood -> Jessie Ware -> Dinosaur Jr. -> Tame Impala -> Father John Misty -> Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds -> Wu-Tang Clan -> Dead Can Dance
Check out the video Coachella just posted on their YouTube channel of the HTDA tour rehearsals. Looks glitchy as hell and they sound amazzzzzzing. The production looks like hundreds of really thin LED "strings", imagine watching scrambled television in the 90s and thats what the band will look like...
FRIDAY: Lord Huron > The Neighbourhood > Polica > DF > Alt-J/Japandroids > Four Tet > Local Natives > Beach House/TNGHT (???) > Blur > J5 > Stone Roses SATURDAY: Guards > Theophilus London > Wild Nothing > Danny Brown > Bat for Lashes > El P > PtM > Hot Chip > TPS/Spiritualized > Moby > xx > Phoenix > Sigur Ros SUNDAY: DIIV > Jeff the Brotherhood/Thee Oh Sees > Jessie Ware > Tanlines > James Blake > Tame Impala > Vampire Weekend > FJM > Nick Cave > Wu Tang > Disclosure
Not as bad as I thought it would be.
I just did my imaginary schedule that I do for every music festival I don't attend and your schedule is freakishly close to the one that I have. Only major difference is I would close the fest with Dead Can Dance. I like how you're not doing 5-minute increments of bands on opposite sides of the fest grounds like some folks' schedules I've seen. I can't wait to get reports and pictures when y'all get back. We'll be listening all weekend.
And why isnt Blur of Stone Roses on the webcast schedule? That sucks!
It totally kills me. I'm just going to call it at the time. I have never seen Sigur Ros, and I've been waiting for a Phoenix show since they played that great sunset show at Bonnaroo.

I was just about to pose the question if eating and resting are completely unnecessary in the mythical Eden of Indio.

It is a bit easier to go without breaks when you don't have late nights to pace for. I usually don't head back to camp at all during the day, and just grab something to eat quickly in transit between sets.
I plan on starting out at Phoenix for the first few songs then making my way over to Sigur Ros. However I will be keeping a close eye on the Phoenix crowd and if I hear a large rawr I'm going to assume its Daft Punk and this fat fuck is going to run faster than ever
Just got back from Sigur Ros' Austin show, and holy hell was that an amazing show! It was my first time seeing them, and you can be sure it won't be the last after that witnessing that. The light/stage show was fantastic, and the band was phenomenal. They played a nice and long 2 hour set, and I loved every minute of it. They're touring live as an 11 piece band right now:
Jonsi - vocals/guitar Bassist Drummer/keyboardist Percussionist/guitar Pianist/percussionist Trumpet Trombone French Horn (I think, it was hard to see her back there) 3 violinists
I'm not going to Coachella, but if I were, I'd catch the first 15 minutes of Phoenix then make my way over to Sigur Ros to bliss the quack out. If you want music to just melt away and get carried into the ether with, there's no better choice then Sigur Ros imo. I've always like their albums in the right mood, but I was skeptical of how their music would translate live. My fears were completely unfounded, they absolutely killed it. Some of the songs had such an amazing energy to them. The standing ovation they got at the end was heartfelt by everyone there, and the band seemed to be very appreciative and feed off the energy. Highly recommended unless you're just dying to see Phoenix, which I understand, that's a tough call!

Uhhh... yeah. You do NOT want to miss the HTDA set. The setup is pretty insane to see live.
