Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The grass was definitely junk by weekend two, but they cleaned the place up really well. It really took me a while to come to terms about the grass situation after committing to weekend two this year.
There were lots of people at Blur and Phoenix, not as big as Roo, but there were 4 other acts on at the same time.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I just think judging an entire class of people without ever having interacted with them is sorta bigoted. Much like it's not okay to assume everyone who listens to ASAP Rocky is some sort of thug or ruffian.
Yes, Blur and Phoenix had sort-of big crowds, Stone Roses and Nick Cave had what The Guardian described as "criminally small" crowds, but at least a big crowd turned out for *cough* the RHCP.
It's funny that you're so defensive of the Coach crowd. I have friends that live all over California - one of the reasons I was considering attending this year - and every one of them will tell you that the Scene stereotype is proven true more often than not at shows out there.
It's funny that you're so derisive of the Coach crowd. I have friends that live all over California - and every one of them swear by the beauty and fun of Coachella and the mixed lineup and the lovely people they meet and the beautiful grounds they see shows upon. I've been to sets at Bonnaroo that were surprisingly sparse and sets that were surprisingly packed - so what? There is no Garden of Eden - only a bunch of different music festivals all over the country that all seem to have their pros and cons.
Seriously, I love Bonnaroo - and I don't understand why you are so bigoted toward Coachella and the people who attend Coachella, especially when you've never even been for a real comparison and also the fact that this forum has so many really, really good people that go to Coachella and enjoy themselves.
My impression is that you're the type of person who will never, ever back down no matter how wrong you might be and that you wouldn't ever admit going overboard or being wrong or anything like that (and if I'm wrong there, I apologize - just my observations to date) - but I mean come on, can't you at some point just have fun here and not just look for things to Google to prove points just to upset people who enjoy themselves at a different music festival?

What's really funny is that I'm just commenting on underwhelming card bookings and small crowds while you throw around words like "bigot" and then tell me to just have fun here.
I found the Coach card to be incredibly underwhelming for a major festival, and I didn't go to Google to prove points. I went to Google to see how it ended up going since people had been (and continue to be) so adament about how worthy the card was. Was surprised to see the weird controversy about whether the Stone Roses had been demoted, then kept reading and found Nick Cave had had a similar turn-out, and then on the Coach board itself saw how they were saying similar things, as Phi did as well above.
Perhaps you should ask yourself who is the one with the preconceived notion when you're arguing with someone who is just repeating what is being said all over the media as well as by vets on the Coach board.

On a lighter note, does anybody care to help me piece together the setlist for The XX on weekend two? Life sucks so hard when fans don't do their due dilligence on setlist.fm
Via cell-phone shot YouTube videos, I've been able to ascertain the following: 1. They opened with "Try"-->"Crystalised" 2. They closed with "Angels" 3. Solange did not come out Wk2,thus they did not play "Hot Like Fire" 4. When they played "Nighttime", they followed it with "Shelter" 5. They also played "Reunion", "Chained", "VCR", "Islands", "Sunset", and "Intro".
Based on that information, here's my best guess on the order of songs:
I could be missing some, and the order is probably all wrong. I am piecing it by memory, which at the time, wasn't at it's full attention.... Please help with any corrections or other "evidence" of the differences between Wk1 and Wk2.
Or if anyone knows a good spot to look for a taper's recording of the show, that would be super too.

But that's not what you're doing. You've been on Coachella's shite since before the festival started. I didn't "throw around" the word bigot, I used it perfectly properly but perhaps I should have said a less inflammatory word like biased. I'm also not arguing - I'd never dare to try and take down the Google Debate King of Chicago. And I did ask myself who has preconceived notions - I actually reflect and introspect and try to be self aware and step back and apologize when I'm wrong. Thus came my original post rather than another. Perhaps you should ask yourself why all of this bothers you so, so terribly much.
I mean this sincerely - have fun at Bonnaroo. I sure will.

Can I just say, Coachella is fun. And I'm super excited that a handful of inforooers made it their first this year, and enjoyed themselves. Makes my heart happy.

If it makes your heart happy, it makes mine happy.
