I actually procured some stream capturing software for this weekend's Coachella streams. Thankfully I've got my desktop and laptop, so I can capture two shows at once and avoid some of the heartbreaking conflicts. It looks like the quality is actually pretty decent as well. I initially had a few hitches in the stream when going through the youtube channel after the stream was on for 5+ minutes, but haven't experienced that since I just started going directly to coachella.com. Hopefully the quality holds up like this all weekend.

Thanks for the heads up. I was starting to pull my hair out if that continued.

For sure.
And for the record, I'm using WM Capture (http://wmrecorder.com/products/wm-capture/). I tried a few free programs like Video DownloadHelper (plugin for Firefox), but couldn't really get it to work with streams. It will capture static YouTube videos and the like without issue, just couldn't really get it to work for live streams. Maybe I was doing something wrong, idk. Tried a few trial versions of different paid programs, and liked WM Capture the best. Instead of trying to pirate it, I just went ahead and bought it. I've been needing something like this for a while, and it seems to do the job quite well. On a high quality setting, a 50 minute set seems to be about 3.5 gigs (~70 MB/min).
So ya, if you can find a nice free program to do it, please share. I just ran out of time searching and bought WM Capture.
Edit: rereading your post, I think you're referring to me streaming directly from coachella.com. I thought it was my internet connection or my stream capturing software at first. But since I've left youtube, it hasn't happened again. When it was happening at youtube, I could refresh the stream and it would fix itself. But this proves problematic when trying to record it
Now I just have to decide if I'd rather record Grinderman or Blur. I'm definitely recording Purity Ring, so that eats up one of my computers during that timeslot. I'm leaning towards recording Blur, and just recording the last half of Grinderman after Purity Ring's set ends. Decisions, decisions...
Edit: Bah, forgot Infected Mushroom streams right after Purity Ring ends. I need another computer!
Anyone else surprised Puscifer is scheduled for the stream tomorrow? Usually Maynard is so controlling about recording/pictures/anything of the sort. When Tool played Bonnaroo in '07, you'll remember the screens would only show their visuals, no shots of the band. And if you ever go to a Tool/A Perfect Circle/Puscifer show, the venue staff are hyper vigilant about kicking anyone out if they even see you bring your phone up to snap a pic/record. They'll give you one warning, but that's it. Maybe in his old age and enough time spent at his vineyard, he's relaxing a little on the policy for festivals at least? I know when I saw two Puscifer shows last year, they still had the strict no camera/phone policy in place.
Whatever the reason, excited to record the Puscifer show tomorrow
