Before everyone gets excited about Lou Reed, let's not forget his "music" that he made with Metallica.
There is a lot of quality on the line-up. I counted last night, and there is a total of 53 acts that I would be down for seeing. If I lived in CA, I would be so down for this, but the lack of a wow headliner for me makes me not feel the need to make a trip across the country.
And Phyllis, you should give Roni Size an honest listen. New Forms was my f*cking jam back in college.

Re: Phoenix headlining...after their album comes out people may look back and realize that they are of course a headliner. I think there is potential for very surprising sales number a la Mumford. Although instead of 600,000 albums, I'd say more like 250,000 for first week sales. Seems there is a lot of pent up demand for new music from them. Just like Kings of Leon, it could instantly catapult them from subs to lifetime HLers.

Also, I think the lineup is great. If this was a Roo lineup, most people on here would be very excited. Its really RHCP that casts a pale shadow over the lineup. Its just uninspired booking. They were last years headliners and its not that often Coachella books other festival's sloppy seconds.
Anyone going will have an amazing time, but as others have said. 350 and being it is in California, I'm going to have to pass. GOD, I hope the knife plays some state side shows.

Just finished The Stone Roses debut album. Its surprisingly contemporary. It has the essence of an 80's album, without the over-the-top production of most popular music of the era. This album could have been released last year. Hopefully all of you Coach-goers will be treated to a great live show.
Woke up to this line up. Some interesting stuff, wish we could get Sigur Ros again. Do RHCP have broader appeal in Cali as native sons or are they just stuck with them?
What? Did you miss the part where Blur is headlining?
My post was saying that Blur wouldn't be #1, but that they could be on the top line. That's what I assumed your bet was (if they'd be #1 or not). I know Jugs' was.
So this is interesting. I know when I typed out my qualification, I with all seriousness meant "the" top headliner of each day. My memory served me wrong...I thought Coach always just did a solo top line act for each day, but looking now I see that's not always the case.
Anyways...I don't want people to think i'm a sore loser or trying to bail on a technicality. I'm seriously shocked that they actually made it to the top line, regardless that they're listed 2nd...so Juggs deserves some credit there. I guess we'll hash this out when he gets online.
IDK bout all this mess. Im extremely underwhelmed especially with the EDM. J5 reuinon is a big highlight on there and I can find a few gems in the lineup but overall Im leaning towards the crossroads Festival for this weekend. I need the weekend to digest and see if its really worth all the money for travel.
With that said the polo fields are beautiful and I know Id have a good time even if this is one of my least favorite lineups

My impression was a split headliner would be a draw.
