I have never ate the stuff but sitting here in the depths of my bunker wired up for electricity by the two gerbils on steroids running around in a wheel to keep the juices flowing. I am watching the Doomsday Preppers show and I keep seeing cases of Spam tasty tasty Spam and I have never tried it ultimate Roo survival food no need for refrigeration and not all of us are in touch with the inner Earth child and crave meat! I have never tried it but I always see it in the store I am going to get the bacon flavored and see if I can work it into my supplies for Roo. I bet it is tasty if all of these people are planning on eating it after 2012! Its time I tried it!

Yeah, some frankenpork product. Was big in WW2. I haven't had it in ages. Don't remember it being that great. I'd try it before I brought any, just in case.

My Mom was famous for frying SPAM in a cast iron skillet for our supper. We would put it on toast with some mayo, mustard and sweet pickle relish, a little salt. It's pretty tasty. Even today sometimes I'll have a hankering, be thinking about my Mom and fry me up a batch. I can see where it would be a no muss, no fuss 'Roo food. I wonder if my Mom secretey watched Monty Python. Nih!
We fried it and ate Spam/mayo sandwiches when I was a kid. Times were tuff, yo. I remember it being tasty, but have no desire to buy and prepare any just because, lol. Hawaiians love that shit. LOVE. THAT. SHIT.

Hawiians? Really. I wonder why. A culturally historic thing I reckon given our country's involvement there as SPAM was developed and ultimately hit the market. It is interesting how war and space travel have impacted our lives at the grocer's.
One can every 3.8 seconds, 16 cans per person per year. That's a heap lot of "meatloaf" without the training.
I knew there was another reason for my love of Minnesota, SPAM Jams, a SPAMarama and Burger King flamed grilled SPAM sammiches. Ane we thought the Austin in Texas had it going on.
my neighbor used to put cornmeal on it and fry it with some pineapple. it was actually good. cannot imagine eating it cold out of the can. last year, however, i admit i did buy vienna sausages and they were fabulous with crackers and hot sauce - ONLY at roo.
this thread gotten deep I am so delighted talking about space travel and food! i want to see a neighbor subsisting entirely off of spam and tang that will be hood status!

Not gonna lie if someone hadn't posted this before I saw the thread I would've been very disappointed. If only it were possible to get a Monty python flying circus in the comedy tent. (HINT HINT AC!!)

And then there were these. Peanut Butter was the best.
I love spam. there is actually a Spam museum in Iowa near Cedar Rapids. Spam w/cheese on an egg sammich is the best! I recently found out what Spam means. It was originaly an abbreviation for Shoulder Pork Ham. The ingredients claim to still be all pork unlike the frauds who make TREET. (BEWARE OF IMITATORS)
