Hello to all my Roo family. I am not the kind of person to ever ask for anything so this is very hard for me but i am running out of options. I attended my first Roo in '08 and have not missed since. I fell madly in love and never looked back. So here is my story: Things have been kinda rough around here for the last year. My wife of nearly 18 yrs kinda went through some changes and decided she needed freedom so 3 months ago she moved out leaving me to take care of our 5 children and our home along with all the bill minus all of her income. I work about 3-4 days a week driving 100mi round trip to do so which is a pretty large gas bill. So because of this i have not been able to save for my tickets this year. Yes i said tickets with an "s" cause i had promised my 17 year old daughter that i would take her as a Graduation Present and for being accepted into the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I am so very proud of her and wanted to share this wonderous experience with her. I work hard but i am also disabled and always afraid that i don't know how long i will be able to keep working. I have Retinitis Pigmentosa and am going to lose my vision some day. Still getting along ok despite some vision loss but i am hopeful that the progression will hold off for a few more years. BUT this is not about me it's about being able to take my daughter to her first Roo as i had promissed before this situation arose. Don't get me wrong, i get the bills paid, i just am having trouble coming up with the funds for the trip. I have what i need for us to get along there ok, except tix. No payout yet on any contests I have stared a donation page at the suggestion of a friend who i actually met at the Roo my first year. I have some money in there so far but still need more so i am asking for any help that i can get. I am even having a yard sale in a week to try and raise more. Feel free to message me on here or even on my face book: Thomas Rinaudo. Here is the donation page: www.gofundme.com/bonnaroo-fund If you cant help that's all good but i just thought I'd try reaching out. Doesn't hurt to ask. I would be more than happy to help others next time or in any other way i can now except money. Nearly 4 weeks left and im getting a little nervous about getting it together AND excited as hell cause i just know something will happen and we will be there. Luckily i only live 30 min away so very little travel expense. Well have a great one everyone and i hope to see you all back on the farm soon. BonnarooOOO!!!!! Peace.
QSAROO might be an option for you little buddy. A wonderful group of people who help others and ask that you do the same. Candles lighting candles. I wish you the best regardless

If your goal is simply to go and you live thirty minutes away, why is your fundraising goal $1,000? I do Roo for $500 a year including gas and ticket and I live a twenty hour drive each way. Roo is a privilege, not a right. If you have five children to take care of and no extra money, it seems this kind of expense shouldn't even be on your mind, dude.
Obviously it's important to you though, and I can't imagine how cool it'd be to have a dad who takes you to Roo. Can your daughter work and save some money? If it comes down to the wire, just buy her a ticket and you stay home. She'll be able to handle herself there, and since you're from the area maybe she'll know people there. I hope she gets there. Even if y'all don't, she's going to school nearby so just take her next summer.

Not really a reason i asked for the $1000 other than it was suggested to me as a round number. All i really need is enough to get the tix as i have actually put away some supplies such as water and snack foods. never really counted on getting anywhere near that. Still hopeful that my garage sale will bring in a few bucks. I asked her if she wanted to go without me as i would let her go with my friends but she said that she really wanted to spend some time with her dad . She said i really need and deserve to go after doing all that i do for them. She is one of the sweetest and unselfish people i have ever known.

Were you able to save any money for this in the past few months? I see you had this plan since at least February? Were the payment plan tickets not an option? Did you look into volunteering (free ticket)?
It seems like you really want to go but if your finances are in danger then maybe put the Roo trip on hold until next year? It's not going anywhere

That would be great except i wont have time because of work and i would still have to come up with the money up front. I have saved some. I can almost buy one ticket and i have bought some supplies here and there over the last couple of months. I wouldn't sacrifice my bills to go Thats what a budget is for. The savings i did have however, went when she left (yes i helped her move ) I still have faith that it will work out. Peace

You should make your goal only $500 and then just make the drive down to Manchester the day or 2 before the fest and look for someone trying to get rid of their tickets quickly... I've seen people get rid of tickets for as low as $50-$150 trying to sell their tickets along the side of the highway. If you can't find the tickets then just head back home and call it a loss.. and save that $$ for next year. Also, I'm volunteering for my 2nd time and I couldn't afford it any other way.

OK i'm getting real close to buying one of the two tix. Thank you to some more of my Bonnaroo family who has helped out I hope everyone has a great week with only three left. Yard sale this weekend at my house might provide me with a bit more fundage. Weather looks perfect for it.
Good luck man, I'm volunteering to offset my costs (getting to do Delfest, Waka, and the roo). Look at it for next year, working with a food vendor. Get to set up camp on Monday or something silly like that..

Just wanted to say hello and a very BIG "Thank You" to Ms. Bonn A. Roo, whomever you are , for her very very generous donation. I think i may have one ticket in place and if so then one to go makes me very excited as i truly believe this is going to happen this year! I love you all my Bonna-Family. Peace
Tommyboy, you have put forth the effort that has grabbed our attention. We have an offer for you. The QSAROO will help you with a ticket to Bonnaroo this year. Our gift is helping you achieve your goal of you taking your daughter to Bonnaroo. This is a unique situation and this is how this will work. We are going to front you the ticket and we ask you reimburses us after Roo. We will work out the details in a PM. This offer has come about from a recent anonymous gift to the QSAROO.
Next year we will have the "Tommyboy Ticket", that ticket will be bought with the money you give back.
We thank the donor! TB, we are happy that you get to go to Roo and we are even more happy that your daughter gets to go with her Daddy!

I absolutely and unconditionally Love my Bonnaroo Family. Thank you all and no worries about me upholding my obligation. I would love to do whatever i can to show my gratitude. I can not even begin to express how great it feels to be able to introduce my daughter to some of the greatest people in the world and to her new extended family. She graduated on sunday and i was sooo proud of her.
Sorry I can't help with a donation, but a few things I've noticed the last couple days. . .
1) Tickets are going for cheap on StubHub (around $180 each)
2) Someone posted about a work opportunity in exchange for a ticket. They were asking for local folks who can work at the farm the weekend prior to Roo in exchange for a ticket. Maybe you and your daughter can both jump on that and have an awesome experience working together and reaping the benefits! . . . bonnaroo.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=28774
