What's your favorite thing to eat at Roo? No, not the grilled cheese and stoner boats from the vendors. I'm talking about the food that gets you through the weekend, the stuff you keep in your cooler/car to eat while at camp. Some of my favorites: Oranges and grapes (dry ice makes them quite interesting) Trail mix with no chocolate Cereal and milk for breakfast Beef Jerky Those little icee things in the plastic tubes Pre-mixed beeritas Pasta Sides (awesome for something quick after getting back from LN)
At camp I keep it simple. I bring/eat granola bars, beef jerky, snack crackers, Cheez-its, trail mix, and bananas. I drink water, gatorade/vitamin water, and Pedialyte as needed. And beer, but not too beer much until the sun goes down.
3/19 Portugal the Man 3/31 Japandroids 4/3 Alberta Cross/BRMC 5/1 White Rabbits 5/7 OK GO 5/14 Mumford and Sons 6/2 The National 6/10-13 Roo 8/21 MMJ and Tom Petty
I'll make a few PB&Js on whole wheat ahead of time and keep them in my cooler. It's a good energy snack that I can grab and go. V-8, V-8 Fusion, and apples are also essentials.

We always bring things like cheez-its, trail mix, gatorade, and something with caffeine.
Last year my friend and I made pasta salad before roo and kept it in the cooler, you would think that is a poor decision but it was perfect. It was cool and refreshing. But keep in mind it has to be kept cold so only do it if you have a good cooler, or trusty dry ice of course.
We also cut up chicken and grilled it with garlic, it was also perfect. Lots of protein and we could just grab it out of the cooler, eat a few pieces and be on our way.
We also precooked Bratwursts and took some hot dog buns. It's easy and pretty tasty, even cold.
It's just so hot you don't want a full meal, unless it suddenly gets really cool and your appetite returns, haha
The gatorade, trail mix and chicken I 100% recommend. The pasta salad and cheez-its, I don't recommend but they worked out for our camp...that's just how we roll.

one bag of sour dough pretzels an some pbj for dipping... our grill broke, roo 05, 06ish. made it through the weekend on the snacks but that was my fav.
the grill really never turned on but that's another story. we have had neighbors since who have met the same troubles and its always good to have a few extra cans of fuel on hand in case you get to help a neighbor out... spread the good karma forward

Locally made Wisconsin bratwurst (gonna have to buy more this year, feed the groop), Wisconsin cheese curds, and whatever local/regional beers my buddies and I bring to swap and share.
We ate the poop out of these last year, for breakfast nothing was better! amzn.to/InEmKA We also ate the beef stew for dinner amzn.to/KvW7rY I could recommend most of there stuff, it dose the job and takes up no space, plus you don't have to keep it cold or anything. Really nice if you want a hot meal and don't want to wait in line or whatever.
I would at least get some breakfast variation because it makes the mornings a lot more pleasant.
These are all great ideas for easy nourishment. I still like to have one full breakfast on Saturday Morning Eggs, Bacon, Cheesy Grits, toast and Jelly. I bring the camp stove and cook all I can and share share share. It is a great time. I have always done truck camping and bringing the things to cook was not a problem but this year I will be doing TO (camp Inforoo) so not sure I will be able to get the things I need in place.

We brought a grill our first year, used it once, and never brought it again.
Wraps, peanut butter, cheese slices, cucumbers, grapes, trail mix, bananas, yogurt, granola, fruit to go, granola bars, pop tarts, dried fruit (apricots, cranberries etc), meat slices and gatorade.
It's much harder coming from Canada. I'd love to pre-freeze juice boxes and water bottles. Or pre-make sandwiches (hint: I read somewhere on this forum that it's a good idea to put a thin layer of butter on the bread before making PB&J sandwiches.....they don't get as soggy). Instead we buy most things at the Wal Mart in Murfreesboro.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

I mostly sustain on Quaker breakfast bars, banana chips, dehydrated fruit, dry roasted edamame and whatever healthy-ish snacks I can find at our local co-op. Beef Jerky sounds amazing though! I'll have to keep that in mind this year. Oh... and Fat Tire beer.
- pasta salad with Italian dressing, artichokes, mushrooms, black olives and pepperoni - jerky - cliff bars - breakfast burritos (I make one every morning with egg whites, potatoes, salsa and soy cheese (I'm lactose intolerant I find eating healthy really helps sustain you through the weekend - and I drink quite a bit, too.
If it were up to be, there would be no grill (my first year, I put water on the grill Thursday morning.... and then poured it out Sunday night..), but my crew now is aaaaall about the grill, but at least I don't have to go near it.
Fixings for Bacon/Sausage, Egg and Cheese on Bagels as well as burgers. Also, lots of goldfish and beef jerky. My goal is to get some sort of fruit and veggies to camp this year. I usually eat TONS of veggies and by Monday I get SO veggie deprived. Like Cinnamon, I buy most items at Walmart when I am down there, so prep work and variety is not always an option. I usually have an egg sandwich in the am, snack here and there, but mostly rely on Centeroo food.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
we like to make a batch of pepperoni rolls to snack on over the weekend.
we make fruit salad and buy deli meat for sandwiches.
for brunch before heading in to centeroo, we whip up one of those breakfast scramblers with sausage, onion and peppers and add scrambled eggs.
i think my favorite thing is slimfast, though. i'm not big on eating as soon as i wake up, and it's nice to grab an ice cold shake out of the cooler when you stumble out of your tent feeling hot as balls.
