Should I buy airfare for Tennessee only when I am sure I have tickets for the roo, or is it never a problem to get tickets right when they go on sale that day and just buy the airfare now? I just wanna get me and my bro's plane tickets while they are still available/decently priced.

You'll be good on tickets for at least a month, regardless of who is (or isn't) added to the lineup between now and then. Last year, VIP sold out before GA. However, you were still able to get GA's right up until that very monday.
Note that the tiered pricing system does make it more attractive to order your GA tickets early.
Good luck getting your GA tickets at the first tier price. Last year they sold out of those in like 10 or 15 minutes. The second tier should last quite awhile, at least a few weeks.
