22-year-old from massachusetts here, and the excitement is freakin brimming in me. me and the bro, and possibly a friend of ours, are goin to bonnaroo for the first time in 2008. lookin forward to an amazing time, with my favorite band of all time, pearl jam, headlining. can't wait to be there for the music, the people, and the experience. see you all there!!!!!!!!!
Last yera was my first year and I've been anticipating this year ever since. Read what all of these veterans have to say, and heed their advice. Pace yourself!!! Other than Flaming Lips, I pretty much missed out on all the late night as I was just exhausted. That will change this year.
xublue said it best. Last year was my first year as well and while one can never REALLY be prepared for the Bonnaroo Experience, lurking here was definitely an aid in getting an idea for what to expect and how to prepare myself for the adventure. Just go with the flow and you won't have any trouble enjoying yourself.

Welcome to our family Just be sure not to just focus and the bands you know and do some research on the other bands before you go. Every year I discover a bunch of great new music that I normally would never have listened to.
Also, make sure to bring plenty of suncreen (the spray kind works best when you are dirty and sweaty ) and more water than you think you would ever need.

Since Roo is about surviving as much fun you can cram into 4 sometimes muddy, sometimes dusty, always hot days, these should be your top priority: 1. Hydration. You're going to be sweating for most of the time you're there. A camelbak will be your best friend. 2. Sunblock. It will be sunny, probably for most of the time you're there. Getting sunburned on the first day is not only going to get more painful over the next 3 days, it's going to make you look like you have no idea where you are or why you are there. The farm is mostly wide-open plains bordered by forests. 95% of where you are going to be will have no shade unless you bring it yourself. 3. Footwear. You'll be on your feet - walking long distances, dancing, waiting in lines. If your feet aren't taken care of, you're not going to have as much fun.
My only advice : Bring your positivity and joy and let it be contagious. Be kind to everyone and look out for your fellow music lovers. Pace yourself, stay hydrated, and have fun! That's all there is to it. You will have a blast!

I'm in the same boat brother, this'll be my first Roo and it's all I f'ing think about! lol. It's getting a little ridiculous really. I can't wait to buy a ticket so I can ease my mind a bit. But yeah, it won't be my first festival but first Roo. Hope to meet some of you guys and gals out there:) With my luck I'll eat too many beans and end up passed out in a ditch for all the best bands but thats what festivals are all about...right? lol. But yes yes AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH whehn will June get here????
