Hey guys, I work in TV and just got our main meteorologist (who's also into music) to give me a customized Bonnaroo forecast...
He showed me the map and said with manchester being in a high front all weekend and the temperatures being in the mid 80's the heat index would be relatively low... so to make sure he looked it up and sure enough the hottest the heat index ever got to was around 89 the whole weekend. He said the only problem we'd have with no rain would be dust... I told him "believe me... I know"
He is jealous of us all, because from what he is telling me, it's going to be warm during the day and chilly at night. Should be the best Bonnaroo weather yet guys!
I was just thinking about this...has their ever been a mild weekend for Bonnaroo? I have heard about 2009 being decent, minus the Thursday tornado or whatever, but will this go down as the best weather ever during the festival? (if it stays this way...trying not to jinx us!)

Temps were like 97 in 2010, heat index around 110. Temps were around 91 last year, heat index high 90s.
Compared to 10, last year was relatively comfy. Minus the dust situation.
2010 was the worst. Enough to make us take a year off and vow only to return with an RV. This year, we have rented a pop up. Gonna get such great sleep, cause it has AC!
I'm sure there is a site were we can get the weather for all the years of Bonnaroo and compare Temp, Humidity, and Rainfall. Anyone willing to do this? Just to settle the which year had the best weather. I just think it would be interesting to know but not willing to do the work myself.

58-66 Fahrenheit = 13-18 celsius right???? Canada does not consider this chilly
OMFG please let these temps be true! Dress in LayeROO?
Gonna have to pack different this year than previously. And while 2007 was my first of very soon to be six Bonnaroos, it was easily the hottest, driest, and dustiest experience I've ever had on The Farm. 2010 was pretty harsh especially Sunday, but overall I think 2011 has higher temps all weekend. And it was Revenge Of the Dust.
2007 was my first and worst year. I was burnt to a crisp. I remember listening to Wolfmother from under the Which Stage bleachers like a cockroach hiding from the sun.
I was in my usual spot on the left side of the Which watchin' them set the sky on fire. Pretty sure I melted.

'05 was incredibly mild. average in the 80's, I dunno if it got above 90 all weekend

That is chilly for Tennessee in June. I bet the high during the day is going to wear you out though while the people from the South are dancing for joy at the heat relief.
These forecasts are sounding kickass. Mid 80s, no rain? That sounds perfect, little dusty but perfect.
It's been rainy and overcast the last couple days though. Last year, it hadn't rained in quite a while before Roo if I remember right. I may just be trying to psych myself up that it won't be insanely dusty again.
I think this may be the first year I'm bringing a hoodie and will USE it. Also will be the first year that I go to sleep in pj pants, and likely wont want to remove them asap due to potential heat stroke in the morning.

Mid 50''s/60 at night sounds good to me! What were the lows last year so I can put that in perspective?
I'm pretty sure last year the lows were high-60's, low 70's. SO its def gonna be chilly at night. Kind of was hoping for warmer night temps. Def gonna be packing some long sleeves and a hoodie.
With all the concrete in Nashville the big city will naturally get warmer... the good news is the humidity is supposed to be relatively low. If that's the case, it's going to be a bearable weekend in either location.
I packed a bunch of leggings and 2-3 long sleeve shirts to layer on my dresses (and a few long dresses). I am worried that this is not enough... but I won't be going back home before I leave for Roo tonight :/ I might have to do some quick shopping on my lunch break...
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

This was my thought too, but wasn't sure it was enough for a 5-6 degree difference. Regardless, I like both forecasts. Just hope it stays warm at night.
If it rains down there today/tomorrow, do you think there'll be problems with mud and the entrance this year? I heard years past have been apain in the butt with people getting stuck in the mud trying to get in..
If there is a ton of rain maybe. I'm in Hattiesburg, MS and we need rain sooo bad! If it's anything like that in Manchester the ground is going to just soke it up. If anything it may help to keep the dust down.

Ya- I hope it does rain, don't get me wrong, I just hope it doesnt slow things down..
then again, pushing cars through the mud sounds like fun right?
