I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.
I am constantly hearing this but how on earth can being soaking wet and uncomfortable for days be as awesome as you are all saying it is.
In '09, it didn't rain all weekend. Just really heavy on Thursday if I remember right. That helped drop down the temperature a few degrees and the cloud cover helped keep it that way. It was a pretty pleasant weekend on a whole. Contrast this with last year where it was crazy hot and dusty all weekend. I will take '09 any day over '11.
Yeah, the rain usually doesn't last long. But it does bring the temperature down and provide some awesome cloud coverage. Plus the time it does rain it awesomely refreshing and great for a quick shower.

Weather is always welcomed, '04 was blazing hot, then had pretty epic down pours, we showered from the water pouring off our canopy, it got real muddy, lots of tow trucks, '05 lots of rain, not as much mud as '04 but was def the coolest weather out of all my roos, '06 was hot as FUDGE on thurs and fri, crazy tent tornado happened, '07 much debate between '11 as the which was dustier, I literally almost died, never knew u can catch asthma, but I ended up in the hospital for 3 days from a weird chest infection/asthma/bronchitis/pneumona that sucked. very hot and dusty, no rain. '09 awesome heavy rain thurs, and fri. loved the weather this year '11 the hottest year yet, so hot and dusty, rivaled '07,but way hotter and i didn't end up in the hospital.
So hopefully it rains a little each day to keep the dust down and the temps. And hopefully its not as hot as last year
Agreed. I don't mind the weather, it's gonna do what it's gonna do. But I do sincerely hope the dust isn't as bad. I have never had any form of asthma but that dust gave me awful breathing problems. Also the heat is expected, but definitely should not be as bad as last year, that was just brutal.
That is the best picture I've seen of the weather in 09.
I can never explain to people what the sky looked like.
Crazy!
But yeah that year the weather was so mild. It was my husbands first year and for about a month before I was telling him how hot it was going to be. Then we go there and were able to sleep in the tent with 2 of our children until about 10 am. He totally got off easy.

Last year was my first Roo and I expected it to be almost unbearably hot. But overall I really didn't have an issue with the heat. It was hot, but it didn't affect my shows, my energy, etc. I honestly was expecting it to be worse. Maybe I'm crazy. If last year was the hottest ever though, then I feel pretty good about this year.
Awesome picture, but I would lying if I said I wasn't a little scared when that monstrosity rolled through. You could see the wall cloud just before it got dark, knowing all hell was about to break loose...

Same here, although the sun did affect my energy, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I heard people complaining about the Tennessee humidity + heat and it threw me off. It was no worse than a hot summer day here in St. Louis.
And I too feel better about this year if they are saying '11 was the hottest.

Based on what the weather has been like here (about 30 min north of the farm) i think it will be Hot (95ish) with a %20 - %30 chance of rain. I also predict the best time ever no matter what the weather.
'08 was hot with a very limited amt o rain and all smiles '09 was Hot with some Beautiful thunderstorms and all smiles '10 was Hot as hell, i seem to remember heat indexes of 105-110 and all smiles '11 was Hot and dusty as hell (there is still Bannadust on my engine!!) and all smiles
So i think it will be great no matter what the weater, as always.

07 dust was at least twice as bad. Last year was very hot, but I thought it was worse in '10 because the humidity was much worse. The dust was not as bad with the humidity, but it felt like you were living in a sauna.

"08 did have great weather. I seem to remember a light rain either on friday or saturday night but it was very welcome. Except for one of our neighbors who left the fly off their tent and come back to a small indoor swimming pool
Agreed. '08 had the best weather in my opinion based on the last 5 years. The rain during MMJ in '08 was the closest thing I've ever had to a religious experience.
