Celebrate Brooklyn! is a summer event that takes place at the Prospect Park Bandshell. Free concerts run throughout the summer with a few (paid admission) benefit shows that usually feature bigger acts. Still plenty of great music and well-known musicians such as Jimmy Cliff and Lyle Lovett will be playing for free there this year. Check out the 2012 schedule:

I usually make a visit to this park/venue every other year for Animal Collective. Bummer that Sigur Ros is already sold out but maybe I'll make it this year for Wilco
