If you are planning on coming down I-75 in Tennesse north of Knoxville, you may want to check the link below. A section of the southbound lanes have "slipped" down the side of the mountain. They should have a makeshift detour done by the end of this month, but they said to expect delays while repairs are being complete which should last until September. It doesn't look like a deal breaker for using I-75 through there, but you may want to factor it in to your trip time.
Is this the same highway that runs through kentucky? ie. The highway that was a cluster f!@k last year after the festival ended?
It was 65 north that suuuuuuuucked on the way home last year. I just drove from indianapolis to memphis and back (65 to 40) and there is still construction in KY when you're almost to TN. Southbound was split by barrier into 2 lanes for a few miles. Coming back, northbound did have construction but i was never trapped and not moving and it didn't go on for as long as it did last year. Who's to say this will be the case as we all head to the farm, but I have to say it was not nearly as trying as last year's drive to and fro.

Tennessee Department of Transportation has a pretty robust ITS infrastructure, meaning that it is pretty easy to access real-time roadway and traffic condition information. You can access all of the information at the following link:
