With the mild winter we have had this year down here, the ticks have been worse than normal as well as the other insects Just FWIW. mosquitos have already come out around my house about 45 mins from Roo.
Well honestly spiders is what I'm trying to keep out! I'm very arachnophobic. I've never had problems with them in the past Bonnaroos but I don't want to start this year!
These things look pretty simple to make, but they are $15, I don't think you'll be able to get the materials for less than that unless you already have mosquito nets laying around.
Cool.. Only reason I wanted to make one is just because I'm worried about not getting it on time if I order (won't get to order till this weekend at least)

Yeah but they spray Roo for bugs and whatever they use kills everything except spiders and ants and the cute little grasshoppers. I've never ever had a bug bite at Roo in 6 years of going and I attract all biting and stinging bugs.
I understand wanting to keep the spiders out (they are a HUGE phobia for me). They are the only reason I put up a tent, otherwise I would just sleep under the shade tent.
They spray the entire farm? Huh, didn't know that. But yea, biggest concern was mosquitos and spiders. Mosquitos I've never had a problem with, but I have had some bad run ins with huge spiders in my tent and want to avoid that if possible. My plan was to just throw an air mattress in the back and sleep with the windows down and sun roof open with my tent fan on, then if/when I need to move just move under the ez up and crash there for a few.
You should be able to grab everything you need at a hardware store. I'm pretty you can buy adhesive magnet tape, I have some laying around that my boyfriend used on doors and whatnot. Mosquito net, too is easy to pick up. You might be able to find some for free on Craiglist or Freecycle if your area has one.
In 2010 there were definitely flies at 'Roo. They were a problem by my camp. But I don't remember them being a problem last year. It probably depends where you camp.
Granted I was sleeping in the back of the scion and it was a bit sticky and steamy. I'm sure the flies loved it. My advice is to just grab a pop-up canopy and sleep under that unless it rains.
