Here is a note from my friend, Beau at Nomad's Land needing more volunteers for the summer's festivals. Please get in touch with him if you want. Good folks helping good people:
------------------
Hey folks, sorry for the mass email. This will be the only one you get about this.
As you know, Kingdom Promotions staffs some of your favorite festivals and music events. This year we need a lot of help at Bonnaroo, All Good, Electric Forest, Phish and Orion. If you are interested in volunteering at any of these events, please follow this link ASAP and get your name on the list. Also, spread the word to all of your friends. This is an opportunity to have a ton of fun, see some great music (for free) and help us raise money for Nomad's Land. Thanks for your help!

Oh, I might add I was at Roo with these folks last year. Premo camping in vendor camping, work a bit, see the music you want to. and help folks. All it costs you is time, food and gas. The helping is primarily being there near washing stations passing out toiletries. I may do All Good or Electric Forest with them.
Nomads Land helps those of US that want and need help mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. You can read more on their website.
Can you explain how much work/what kind of work a little better? Do you have to buy a ticket or just pay them the $50? It says 2 12 hour shifts.. does that mean you'll be missing almost 2 whole days or what?

Yes. I'd be glad to.
No, you do not buy a ticket. The deposit is your ticket in exchange for your volunteer work.
The Nomads Land helps those of us who festival/ travel, nomad-like.
NL works with festival organizers to provide services to the folks in various ways and the festival organizers in turn donate monies back to NL to help further their purpose.
Last year's work involved manning a table, various around camp locations, handing out soaps, toothpaste and brushes, toiletries the traveler/nomad/festival goer might not have. Last year some vols. worked with a food vendor, either hotdog/brats or lemonade stands. Last year there were 3 six hour shifts for me, on a lemonade stand.
The $50 is a deposit to make sure you show up. You get $40 back after your first shift, which means you showed up.
This year I think there are only 2 shifts, which are flexible, I believe, meaning they most likely can be split up among folks. I do not know the specifics of the work. Joshua or Beau could fill you in on all the details.
I cannot tell you how highly I think of these two guys and the good work they do around the country helping out good folks like us.
Contact them, look their website. Good folks.
This was a great way for me, personally, to be involved helping some folks AND to hear some great music.
