One of my friends is sort of dragging her feet about buying her ticket--she's trying to save as much money as she can in order to do so.
I've told her I'd be willing to front her whatever money she can't come up with, and she can just slowly pay me back.
I realize that Bonnaroo will most likely not sell out this year, but I am curious as to whether there's a specific time that you *should* buy your ticket by? Since I know they have to mail it to you, etc, I don't know when the latest is that you can wait.
So, in summation: what day should I tell my friend is the latest that she *should* buy her Bonnaroo ticket?

i have a feeling if you wait a week or two tickets will get pretty cheap. already selling for ~$200 on ebay and stubhub. tell your friend to spend no more than 175. i bet he/she will get one for 150 or maybe even less if lucky.
How legit is StubHub? I've never used it before so I'm apprehensive about it, the last thing I want is to get all my ticket money ripped off. But getting a ticket for $150-$200 would be really nice because money is tight this year.

I used stubhub to get tickets after a show sold out. Paid over twice the original price but all went well. They were printable tickets though, this is different. I'd go craigslist first, that way you can register the wristband there before you pay the person.

is piece of mind worth $75? I personally have no issue paying the ~$300. I do not make a lot of money but to me 4 days of camping and music is easily worth that.

Stubhub is partners with bonnaroo, and they have a pretty airtight guarantee for buyers. I would not worry about stubhub at all. Anything goes wrong, you can definitely call and they will get you into Bonnaroo no matter what, then go after the seller to recover the costs!

When I ask "when's the latest I can buy a ticket," I'm referring ONLY to buying it through the Bonnaroo website.
This is the first time that all of us are going to Bonnaroo, and we all would rather pay the extra $100-$150 for peace of mind that the wristband works and that all is in order. I realize Stubhub may be 99.9% reliable, but we want 100% certainty.
So, to rephrase: When is the latest she can buy a ticket through the Bonnaroo website, and still have her wristband arrive on time?

tickets will be on sale through roo website until they sell out (which it looks like they won't).
I'd say the absolute last minute to buy one would be monday morning before roo

In 2010, Tickets were available until the last minute at the box office which was offsite in Manchester somewhere. If you ordered your wristband after the shipping deadline online, you could pick it up at box office as will call. This of course didn't happen in 2011 because of an early sell out. I assume they will follow this model if tickets are still available last minute.
I don't know if this is proper place for this, but if anyone needs a wristband, let me know. I got a pass so I need to sell mine ASAP. I paid $290ish with fees I want to say, but I'm willing to negotiate. I'd just like to get my money back. Message me if interested. Moderators, feel free to redirect me to proper posting place if this isn't correct forum. Thanks! Lauren
posting in the proper place would be ebay, stubhub, craiglist, etc.
Craigslist has always been good to me. I usually start looking on Sunday and finalize by Wednesday before leaving. Always pay 150-175. Gonna try it for VIP this year and expect to pay about $1,000 for a pair.

They are going to have to drop you off near a GA gate (I say near because there could be a line of traffic, making it difficult if not impossible for them to drive right up). VIP'rs have their own separate entrance, and they aren't going to let you in that entrance with a GA wrist band. If you try that, you may be forced to walk an insanely long distance back through town. I wouldn't wish that on an enemy.
