this is awesome. i totally missed the other QSAROO threads until it was too late. xoxoxoxoxoxo
before i get to the individual responses, i'd like to say that my theme for all responses is to be mindful and aware of your body. since there's no one blanket answer for how to prevent any medical condition, awareness of one's self is vital. i clumsily practice mindfulness as well as i can so i don't have to do anything differently when i'm someplace like Bonnaroo, where there are heightened health risks.
1) i have a two-step plan for dehydration. the first is to bake water retrieval into everything i do. so, if i'm going from The Tent to That Tent, i add 5 minutes to fill my water bottle. same thing for when i'm walking to Centeroo from camp. i make sure that i always have water on me, day and night.
the second part is knowing how i feel when i'm dehydrated so i can immediately take action (drinking a full nalgene of water).
2) for hyperthermia also try to work heat-releasing actions into everything i do. i wear loose clothing to allow heat to easily escape my body. i wear a bandanna, but i leave an opening on the top for heat to escape. i also jump in the misting tents or fountain whenever possible.
3) my plan for reducing sun exposure is to lighten my band schedule (fewer bands, not so many daytime Which & What Stage shows) to allow more time for shaded activities like: - misting tents - shaded parts of This, That or Other - shade tent at camp - finding a spot in the shade near a tree to eat
all of this requires spending less time at shows, but the shade is worth it.
4) i'm lucky that i can sleep anywhere at any time, so i take the opportunities mentioned in the previous answer to take naps as necessary. this is all part of being mindful of how my body feels and how my mind works when i'm exhausted so i know when it is important for my health to take a nap.
5) i hate to sound like a broken record, but again, being mindful of my surroundings and what i ingest. i'm sure a lot of us have had experiences at Roo where we get overwhelmed by something, oftentimes during latenight. knowing when/where that can happen (panic attack in the middle of a large crowd) and having a plan for dealing with it (tell me friends beforehand that if i disappear, i probably went to a designated picnic table 500 feet away).
6) joke answer: the theme for my responses is a Cibo Matto lyric - "I know my chicken, you've got to know your chicken"
real answer: i don't have any great ideas, just a bunch of variations on the obvious "be the change you wish to see in the world". here are a couple: - "create something bigger than yourself" - "connect people with communities"
thanks!
edit: holy crap. i sound like such a social worker. i mean, i AM a social worker, so it makes sense, but this is over the top, even for me. oh well......
This is amazing, I feel like this might be my ONE shot to make it to Roo this year so here it goes...
Amanduh's EPIC Safety Tips
1. Basically, high quality H20 is required at all times while on the farm. I like to go in with as MUCH frozen water as possible (which is also great for keeping coolers extra cold - two bird one stone!!). My container of choice are water bottles (recycled afterwards, of course).. I can toss a few in my bag and as they melt during the day I've got ice cold water. And I have to admit, those COLD bottles feel AMAZING on my face and shoulders as a little heat reliever during the day. Once my cold water is gone I hit up a water station to fill them all back up and that usually gets me through another set or two. It's so important to stay hydrated... even if it means missing some of the set from your favorite band!!
2. I'm a misting tent and shade queen - I listen to my body and when I'm feeling a little TOO hot I start seeking out shade immediately!! Also, drugs during the day at Roo are just a bad mix... I like to save the good time for after the sun goes down!
3. This one is tough because the sun is EVERYWHERE. During the day I can be found camped out under a BIG floppy hat and most likely in a shaded area around the misting tent. Then when it's time for that 2 o'clock set - I'm totally ready to brave the sun (still with my big floppy hat) and enjoy myself. I also pretty much BATHE in a high SPF sunblock, I'm a fair skinned beauty and being sunburnt is NOT my idea of a good time!
4. I HAVE to pace myself... in 2009 I saw an INSANE amount of music - which was AMAZING but I was exhausted by 11/12 pm and still kept going into the weeeee hours of the morning. I pushed myself way too hard and could have really put myself in harms way. Lesson learned, it's all about looking at the schedule and being realistic about how many shows I can see (plus all the walking between stages, water stations, for spicy pie, and to camp). Just gotta use my head and be SMART about it.
5. At Roo it's easy to get wisp away in the music magic... where everybody loves everybody and we're all there for the same reason... and while most of that is true, there ARE people there who don't have the purest of intentions. For starters, I leave the valuables at home or locked up in the car. I like to make friends with all my neighbors... not only does it make for a GOOD GOOD time but they are more than willing to keep an eye out on my things while I'm away from camp. And like any good Bonnaroovian, I do the same for them.
6. How about... "Candles burning bold and bright, even into the darkest night" My reasoning being that at least for me, I would have no hope of going to Roo this year but because of QSAROO's amazing generosity... my flame flickers.
I hope I get to do a happy dance at the end of this... Thanks so much!!

1) Dehydration- Dirty Water in the wonderful mushroom.
2) Hyperthermia- Misting tents or jump in someones RV when they aren't looking and take a quick shower... not what I would do, but would be awesome if someone did lol
3) Sun exposure- Ummmmm there are trees everywhere, or bring some sun screen and something for shade.
4) Exhaustion- Only wimps get exhausted at Roo or Noobs... The veterans will show you how to fix that problem.
5) Personal safety (safety of your whole self) Just use common sense, if you are going to drink like a sailor you will probably not make it till sunday...
1) Dehydration- Bring plenty of water. Start the day off by chugging from the gallon, the more the better. Bring an empty container to the shows (probably the one that you chugged in the morning) and refill them from the water stations. Having a gallon jug is beneficial to you and the people around you because you can share. Make frequent stops at the water stations in between shows and do not wait until you’re thirsty to drink.
2) Hyperthermia – Wear clothes… If that doesn’t work, find a buddy for some body heat. Make sure to bring galoshes and jeans in case it rains, and may be a beanie since you lose most of your body heat through your head. A space blanket is a viable choice because they are small and portable. If you are cold, go in the middle of a crowd at a show. A personal favorite of mine is to have a scarf. It can be used as a dance partner and a source of heat. If someone else has hypothermia, get naked and lay down next to them.
3) Sun exposure – Sun block… It puts the lotion on its skin. Wear a hat, it protects you from the sun beaming down on your head and also gives you personal shade. If you are feeling overheated, find the nearest water station, get some water and find a tree to rest under. If you are in the middle of a crowd at a show, exit to the sides and have a rest on the ground (sitting up). Also, you can visit some of the different tents that Bonnaroo has to offer (the Garnier tent, beer tent, vendor tent, etc). If the water is not brown, cool off in the mushroom fountain. Then, put on more sunblock. For people who are concerned about their skin, wear long sleeves (make sure the shirt you’re wearing is white). Surprisingly the more clothes you have on, the cooler you stay. Stay hydrated!
4) Exhaustion – Take a rest! Even though it can be tempting to push your body to the limits since there are so many things to do and see, giving yourself a chance to rest will allow you to enjoy things a lot more. Find a peaceful tree to rest under while you listen to a band. You can lay out and try to get some sun, which you will. Go grab some lunch, you’re probably hungry. Just have a seat anywhere, may be even take a nap… It’s even better if you’re taking a nap under a tree while you’re listening to a band play. You can still say you saw them.
5) Personal safety (safety of your whole self) – BUDDY SYSTEM!!! Try not to go anywhere alone! At night make sure to carry a flashlight or a glow toy to light your way through the darkness. At the campsite, make sure you have a marker like a flag or a glow in the dark piglet. Do not push your body to the limits. Before you leave the campsite decide on a “meet spot” with your friends. If someone is MIA for longer than 3o minutes, go to the meet spot. Stay hydrated (day or night). Bring a first aid kit and make sure you know where the nurse’s station is, just in case (look for the big balloon with the medic cross on it).
With the unfortunate losses at the farm in recent years, this is a great idea to drive home the point of personal safety. Plan for the worst, hope for the best. Don't hesitate to reach out to first aid if necessary. With that in mind, here's what I do every year to make sure I make it home in one piece
1) Dehydration: I take my camelbak with me into centeroo, as well as an extra bottle of water that I then fill with gatorade powder to replenish electrolytes, etc. My first year I used a knock off coleman water pack that leaked immediately so now I always carry my camelbak. I also take several gallon jugs of water for my camp site that I can refill at the stations so that I always have water at camp. It's important to have access to water at all times, whether its centeroo or at camp.
2) Hyperthermia: I try to keep my body temp down and my head cool by periodically wetting my bandana before tying it on my head. It's also great to visit the mist tents or fountain between sets. It's hot and humid all day so it's important to pace oneself and take a break from the music to cool down. Handheld mist fans are a great investment too.
3) Sun exposure: I have pretty fair skin (that pennsylvania dutch blood in me) so regularly applying sun screen is a must. Getting burns on thursday or friday can take away from your experience so sun screen is important. I usually wear a bandana or a hat so it doesnt feel like the sun is melting me. There are several spots to enjoy the music from the shade that I take advantage of. This, That, the Other tent, comedy theater, and movie theater are all great ways to get out of the sun. Bring aloe vera in case you get burnt.
4) Exhaustion: It's a four day festival so it's important to pace oneself. I see the bands I want to see on thursday night but I dont party too late because I want to be up for the epic friday and saturday late night sets. If I feel myself getting tired during the day I find myself a shady spot to sit and listen to my shows rather than push myself. Its important to get as much rest as possible in the morning before the heat wakes you, so I've taken to sleeping in my screenhouse with a fan instead of the tent in order to get a bit more shuteye.
5) Personal safety (safety of your whole self): I carry a first aid kit with me all the time, which fortunately hasnt been used much. Be aware of surroundings at all times and make friends with neighbors in order to look out for one another. This keep the campsite safer and you make friends as a bonus. And make sure to know how to get back to your campsite!
QSAROO's mission statement is to ignite the soul of the unlit with the powerful gift of giving, by giving.
Our motto is Candles lighting other Candles.
6) Create a new QSAROO motto based on your thoughts of QSAROO.
Tough to capture that in just a few words, but here goes "Giving to those, for those to give in return"
Describe your safety plan for the following concerns:
1) Dehydration:
The obvious... drink water. Also, add some Emergen-C to your water, it has tons of electrolytes!! You are going to be sweating your (insert private part here ) off, so limit your consumption of dehydrating substances (booze, soda, no now) and maximize your intake of that life giving elixir! Bring water with you wherever you go, and stop by the water stations to refill and rehydrate. Dehydration can be caused by any one or a combo of the dangers listed below, follow my tips below and dehydration won't be a problem ;D.
2) Hyperthermia:
Stay as naked as possible! By increasing the surface area of skin available to wick away heat from your body, your perspiration has more cooling power. On one of the gazillion stops you make to the water station, fill up a bottle then promptly dump it on yourself, and or your girlfriend...WET T SHIRT contest!
3) Sun exposure:
Seeing as how you are now holding a water bottle with Emergen-C wearing only a loin cloth, add an umbrella to the mix. "But I don't want to hold an umbrella!" Fine then wear a sombrero...it's a tad sunnier in Mexico than TN, so take a hint! Bonnaroo just added a few more shade trees to the farm, so use those to their full advantage. Go visit the Brooers tent and sample a beer. If you're not jamming out to some awesome music than you probably could be under some shade!
4) Exhaustion:
This has just as much to do with your camp setup as what you do, so Party your A$$ off. if you went to bed at 6am and still can't sleep past 8:30 because you're too hot, you should put that EZ Up over your tent. Like a roof, there is a space between your tent ceiling and the canopy that blocks the sun, this allows ventilation of that hot a$$ air and keeps your tent cooler. (don't use the rain guard if you have the EZ Up). When you get enough rest in conjunction with hydration, you will feel great! All that being said, you will want to hit up a ton of great shows, so you're going to be pushing yourself to the limit. Listen to your body, don't over do it. If you feel tired, take a look at the schedule and re evaluate your plans.
5) Personal safety (safety of your whole self)
Bring a gun and give everyone the stink eye.. Just kidding! Stick with your friends! hang with your buds! Despite there being 79,999 awesome Roo'ers on the farm, there will undoubtably be one a-hole. But a-holes hate big groups If you're looking to have more fun than just listening to great tunes, then stay in your group! They can help keep you safe.
Our motto is Candles lighting other Candles.
6) Create a new QSAROO motto based on your thoughts of QSAROO. Keep the motto, it rocks! but maybe 'In Giving there is nothing too little to give, except when you give nothing."
Edit: Vote #6!! I'm hoping to bring my little sis for her first Roo Fest!
DEHYDRATION- If your an EMT, pack a couple extra IVs. If not I recommend mixing your tequila with lemon-lime gatorade. It makes for a pretty good margarita and packs more electrolytes than the typical worm.
HYPOTHERMIA- While your more likely to suffer heat exhaustion, a summer storm can cool things off in a hurry. Suddenly finding yourself wet and cold can be a real buzz kill. Its impractical to walk around with extra layers of clothes, so your best bet is take a break back at camp, put on something warm, and have couple more margaritas before heading back to Centeroo.
SUN-EXPOSURE- Giant Sombreros and sunscreen are both effective and acceptable. Painting your fat, hairy, naked self in red grease paint may keep the burn away from your skin, but please be considerate of other peoples eyes.
EXHAUSTION- is unavoidable! I recommend getting plenty of sleep before Bonnaroo, not driving overnight to get there. If your favorite band is late-night, don't over-indulge before noon.
PERSONAL SAFETY- Know your surroundings. Its easy to know approximately where your camped and yet walk in circles for hours looking for it in a stupor. Also, leave expensive personal items locked in your car or at home. I've seen tents cut open in the past. oh and...Whatever you do, take care of your shoes!
Dehydration is always a big concern at Bonnaroo. I usually run into 2 issues: I am super cheap and don’t want to pay the bottled water prices on the inside and they make me dump out my Camelback going in. The best way I have found is to fill my Camelback pouch with icecubes just to have a cold holding station. Then when I fill up my Camelback on the inside at the water stations, it will stay cold. For me, it has always been the goal to drink way more water than I think I need to. I am a bigger guy and I sweat an insane amount, so I tend to drink way more water than my friends. That’s not a bad thing, but I find myself running off to fill up my water more often. If you have room in your pack, I recommend taking 1 or 2 Gatorades to have during the day. This will help with some electrolytes and nutrients. Bottom line, keep drinking water even when you don’t want to. If you are drinking beer, drink even more water.
2) Hyperthermia
Hyperthermia is when your body temperature gets too high. Heat Stroke is going to be your main cause of this at Bonnaroo. For this one, you need to plan smart. If every act you want to see is at the What or Which Stage during the day, that’s great. Just know going in that it’s not going to be in your best interest to sit there without moving all day. Find some shade in the very back of the What Stage area. Hang out in a Port o Potty if you have to. As for the Which Stage, use the trees or go shopping through Centeroo. Step into a music tent or movie tent to cool down a little. Usually there is enough of a break between the acts that you can step away and collect yourself and cool off a little. Although NO NO WORD!!! are illegal at Bonnaroo, if you do partake in them, know that they are going to increase the likelihood of heatstroke. Also, know the symptoms for this one. If you aren’t sweating in the 95 degree heat, this is a problem. If your skin gets really red as well, it’s time to sit out a show for a few minutes. A good prevention method for this one is to know your limits and plan your schedule to include some shows/activities in shaded and non-shaded areas. If possible, meet up with your friends just so you can check in on each other and do a quick assessment. Also, a pocket sized battery operated fan is helpful for bringing your body temperature down. They may look unhip, but so his hyperthermia.
3) Sun exposure
Ah, everyone’s favorite at Bonnaroo, sun exposure. Most days, you can’t fight it. He is going to be there at 7am cooking you in your tent and at noon while you are watching a Marley play, and at 6pm when you are running between 4 stages/tents trying to catch every act you want to see. Sunscreen, sunscreen sunscreen. Put it on before you go into Centeroo. Take it with you in your bag into Centeroo and reapply (watch out for the aerosol ones though, overzealous security guards have been known to take them from your bag). I think an SPF between 35-50 will do the job. Even if you have sunscreen on, you are skill going to feel the pain from the sun. This piggybacks off of hyperthermia and dehydration. Get out of the sun for awhile. Find some shade to sit in and relax. Don’t spend all day at the What and Which Stage. Enjoy some comedy or smaller bands in the Tents. If things get drastic, go to the First Aid area and sit in the shade. Bonnaroo is no fun on Friday-Sunday if you get toasted on Thursday. Also, bring some aloe lotion just in case you need to heal from a burn.
4) Exhaustion
This one is tough because there are enough factors to write an entire essay about exhaustion at Bonnaroo. This one starts at the campsite. If possible, bring a popup canopy. Then bring another. As much shade as you can give yourself at the campsite is only going to increase your ability to sleep past 7am when the sun comes up. There is a good chance you will be out at late night shows til 3am or later. You will want to sleep past 7, shade will help you do that. Let’s take it into Centeroo. Some of the bets naps in my life have been under a tree at different spots in Centeroo. There is no rule stating you don’t get your money’s worth if you aren’t at shows from 12pm to 6 am at Bonnaroo. If there is a lull in the schedule for you, set up next to That Tent and listen to someone you wouldn’t normally listen to while you nap. It will be wonderful. Same for the Comedy Tent, try it out. They have added AC in this massive tent and sitting in there for an hour during the show can really recharge your battery. If you plan to do latenights shows from 12am-6am, there is no shame in taking it easy in the back during the Chili Peppers. Again, know your limits and assess yourself as the day progresses. Make plans to meet up with friends and check in on each other.
5) Personal safety (safety of your whole self)
I have been to 8 Bonnaroos and 99% of the people I have met have been great. However, there is always going to be a risk of your personal safety. Be aware of your surroundings at all times. Travel back to camp late at night with someone. Use a flashlight. I have seen many a drunk people at night face plant tripping over tent tiedowns in the camping area. You may laugh about it later, but it will hurt for awhile. I have done Bonnaroo solo before, but I don’t recommend it as far as safety goes. It’s good to have people to check in with throughout the day. At shows, it’s fun to be in the front of the pit. But if you feel your body can’t take it, don’t be afraid to get out. There are plenty of good spots to catch shows. My favorite is right in front of the soundboard against the back rail. The sound is great there and you don’t have the pressure of people pushing you from behind. Again, most people that go to these things are great people. In addition, lock up your valuables in your car and keep them out of eyesight. Don’t give people a temptation. Same for your tent and camping area, lock your items up and out of eyesight. There will be a few bad eggs, just be smart about where you go and who you go there with.
6) Create a new QSAROO motto based on your thoughts of QSAROO.
“Everyone Deserves a Chance to Rock”
Many people have benefited from the generosity of others through QSAROO. People are getting the opportunity to enjoy life changing musical experiences. Often these experiences can be enough to help put aside the hardships going on in their lives and enjoy that bright spot, if for only 4 days. Everyone does deserve a chance, and I am proud to be associated with this community that provides it.
Added note: I plan to give this ticket to one of my best friends who has fallen on tough times and really had a rough year. I think his experience really is an example of what QSAROO is trying to accomplish.
Describe your safety plan for the following concerns:
1) Dehydration- lets keep this simple. I plan on bringing 1 24 case of water bottles. Besides the 24 case of water, I figure that this is not enough. You can’t spell hydration without PBR. Since you can’t, I also plan on bringing 2 six packs of PBR. As the motto goes, 3 PBRs a day, keeps the dehydration away.
2) Hyperthermia- To prevent hyperthermia, I will have to take my three-step plan of action. Step 1, no clothes means its time to party. Even though this is step 1, by law I am required to wear clothes. I plan on wearing a minimal amount of clothes to this event. A speedo would work best, but I will have to go with swimming trunks. Step 2: The fountain. Step 2 needs no explanation. Step 3: pretend to have hyperthermia. As learned in the movie what about Bob with Tourette’s syndrome, if I pretend to have hyperthermia, then I will not be able to get hyperthermia.
3) Sun exposure- To prevent sun exposure I will wear big sun glasses. I plan on wearing sunscreen, but since sun screen can only do so much, sun glasses are key to looking cool, and keeping out of the sun.
4) Exhaustion- To prevent exhaustion, I plan on being awesome. By being awesome, this means taking every chance you get to start a rave at the stage of any band that is playing at Bonnaroo. When you can keep your spirit high, exhaustion is only a figment of our imagination.
5) Personal safety (safety of your whole self)- In order to be safe, I will say No to drugs.
QSAROO's mission statement is to ignite the soul of the unlit with the powerful gift of giving, by giving.
Our motto is Candles lighting other Candles.
6) Create a new QSAROO motto based on your thoughts of QSAROO.
“If every candle isn’t lit, then it isn’t a party”
I hope it's not too late! I've been lucky to attend Bonnaroo the past five years a row with my younger brother Robert. It's become a family tradition, where he travels from Florida and I travel from NY. This year I simply can not afford a ticket. We hope to keep it a family tradition!!!
My safety plans:
1) Dehydration- I personally do not use plastic water bottles throughout the year because I'm a pretty hardcore environmental activist, but at Bonnaroo, sometimes it is necessary. In 2010 I spent a couple hours in the Medic Tent from dehydration on the first day! I was already exhausted when I got to the farm from work prior to Roo and didn't have proper nutrients in my body nor enough water because I was too stubborn to use plastic. Now, I know, safety first and Clean Vibes does such an AMAZING job recycling, I can use them, if need be, once a year!!! Other than that, I bring my reusable water bottle with me, into Centeroo and fill it up through out the day at the amazing water wells the fine people of Roo have installed for us Eco-conscious and money conscious people. There are also great water sheds to wash your hands and feet, this is another great place to splash your face, dump water on yourself and fill up your bottle. In terms of safety, despite popular demand, it really is best to drink booze later in the day, so you don't over do it in 100 degree heat!!
2) Hyperthermia- I was boderline with this problem in 2010. Again, I wasn't drinking enough water, but I honestly think it was my hat I wore!! You MUST be careful with the hats you choose to wear! I wore a floppy hat, but it was wool, and thick, and was actually trapping the heat in my body. Even though it was floppy, and I didn't feel it was hot, it turns out it was trapping the heat in!!! So please be careful of this. I wore it all weekend in 2010 and was woozy the whole time, not knowing why! Take some time to enjoy the A.C in the comedy and cinema tent, the water slides, misting tents, the mushroom (thurs/fri, before it gets nasty!). Take time to sit in the shade, and meet strangers
3) Sun exposure- Wear a hat! (Just make sure it isn't thick or wool!!) Wear lots of sun screen, but do try to get organic lotions. It turns out most sun tan lotions actually have toxic chemicals in them that have carcinogens in them. So be careful with that. Again, get some shade in the comedy, cinema tent. This tent and the Other tent is covered (if I'm not mistaken), which is nice. Check out Plant Roo too. Lots of great info booths there for great organizations (some I used to work with!) They have shade there too!
4) Exhaustion- All of the above!!!! 1-3 really help with exhaustion!!! Everyone parties differently. But MY plans for this year are: I work very hard throughout the year, dealing with difficult issues. Bonnaroo is my chance to escape from it all and have a blast. I like to get to Roo on Wednesday night, so I am in the camp grounds and setting up on Thursday. I like to get a GOOD nights sleep Thursday, because it's going to be a long weekend. I personally can not sleep inside my tent when the sun is blazing in the morning, it gets too hot, so I wake up at 7am, (take a shower if I need one/have the money) and lay outside in my bathing suit under the Tennessee sun!!! This way I get some color, vitamin D and am not overly heated in my tent. It's my Bonnaroo morning ritual!!!!! It charges me for the day!
I always plan a show to sit down under a tree, take a load off, eat lunch with my little brother, just chill and meet strangers. Even take a nap! Comedy tent has AC, so it's so nice to rest, get some AC and just sit down for an hour. I don't "rage" till the sun comes up all four nights, but I do at least two nights. We gotta pace ourselves. (I'm turning 30 soon! AGH! Just taking it easy, chilling throughout the day, stay at a steady pace, eat enough, hydrate yourself, and enjoy ROO!!! Oh God, just thinking about it is making me lose my mind, if I miss it this year! :/
5) Personal safety (safety of your whole self) I'm a chick, so I have to be extra careful of where I get my booze from and how much I consume. A couple of years ago my girlfriend was slipped something in her drink at Roo. It was terrible. Luckily we got her out of the situation she was in, but it could have been much worse than it was. So, I make sure if it's beer being handed to me, I open it myself. If it's liquor, I pour it myself. I like to think I'm a good judge of character. I've had no problems at Bonnaroo, the five years I've gone. I'm very close with my little brother, he's my best friend and my Roo companion for the past five years in a row. I always check in with him and viceversa! It's just best to check in with your crew/family, and if you're going solo, camp with Camp Inforoo!! You have a family at Roo, you're not alone!!!
One thing I will add, in terms of safety, is no open fire!!! In 2007, my first Bonnaroo, there was a haystack art display at one of the pods in the camp grounds. Someone set the haystack on fire in the middle of the night. I was talking with the volunteers and their fire extinguisher was broken. I quickly thought to open up the case of water bottles near by. I ripped open the case and started dousing the haystack. I then started throwing them to all of the volunteers. We successfully put the fire out and the fire chief said if it wasn't for my quick thinking, the fire would have spread and burned down the near by tents with campers sleeping in them. To this day, I believe I've had the most miraculous concert karma because of this! But the lesson is, no open fire!!!!
6) Create a new QSAROO motto based on your thoughts of QSAROO. "Feeding two birds with one seed." Instead of "killing two birds with one stone," it should be "Feeding two birds with one seed." Giving is just as rewarding as receiving. We all know this. When you give, you're helping someone in need, but you're also developing a stronger soul, cleansing your karma. So in a way, you are feeding two birds with one seed. (Although I think the motto you have is perfect!)
Thank you all again for your generosity. No matter what happens, you guys are great!!! Love to you all. I hope to see you on the farm with my little brother Robert. The Bonnaroo Gods will make it happen, if it's suppose to happen.
