I would make sure all area that you will sleep in be in shade too. Otherwise you are just heating an oven up before you sleep in it. Stretch a tarp from the ez-up over the truck.
The biggest downside will be the complete lack of airflow as there are at least 3 sides in the bed. Think about air circulation, possibly get some way to raise the mattress so you are above the walls, yet still under the shade.
Maybe you can get a couple of battery powered fans to sit on the tailgate and blow air at you. If you want to get crazy with the cheeze whiz, you may be able to position another couple of fans at the front of the bed.
