Awww, that's great man. Really happy for ya. Try not to puke directly on her or piss the bed in Asheville.
Hey man I am a pro, if I get that bad she will be passed the fuck out and I can clean it up before she comes to. Seriously though I am gonna behave myself and since she is a fellow Fetifarian she is used to a certain amount of zany hijinks, drunken adventures, and substance induced events. I am thinking a the house with 100 mile views around Asheville, a hot tub, and sauna is a good choice for our first weekend together as a couple.
So just for an update, I have the most epic first date ever planned. Which is a little backwards, but hey long distance relationships are weird. We have a private cabin rented in Asheville that we are sharing with some other couples, with three decks and a hot tub. I borrowed some stage lighting from a friend so we are going to have a full on dance party set up in the living room. Friday we are going to a fancy French place, and out to some breweries where I have some friends. Saturday is Tupelo Honey then a seafood feast at Bull and Beggar before the Drive By Truckers show, plus more breweries.

I've got a huge crush on this girl who is in the same circle of acquaintances as me. Always see her out at the bars and shows I go to and play at but I have never formally introduced myself or anything. I've decided that next time I see her (I play 3 shows next week so I'm sure it'll be at one of those) I'm gonna try this crazy "conversation" thing.
Of course I highly doubt I'll follow through when the time comes :x

All I can say is that you lose 100% of the games you do not play man.

Well I managed to avoid both those things and the whole weekend went really really well. We went to a French place and ate Cocoa dry rubbed duck and chicken confit with pumpkin seed pesto ravioli. Drank more sour beers than is actually recommended, along with some amazing high gravs at the Wedge and Wicked Weed. Saw an amazing DBT show at the Orange Peel, where we ingested some rather interesting items as well, along with playing in the hot tub and sleeping in front of the fireplace together. She will be moving up next month and rooming with my best friends GF, so I am pretty darned happy at this point. I will not see her again until Aura fest in a few weeks, but we did confirm that we are seriously in love. I am almost 37 years old a single dad, and I ahve had my share of relationships but I have never ever felt like this before about anyone. Also I have never dated another festival person, so I am really excited to actually take a significant other to Bonnaroo for the first time. Anyway I just thought I would throw in this last update and let you guys know life is good.

Well thanks for making me feel like a piece of shit, Jess.
As first dates went it was pretty epic. I almost had messed up because I bought Friday night DBT tickets instead of Saturday which was sold out. I managed to talk our way into the show though which actually was more impressive than if I had just bought the right tickets to start with.

Caught some feelings really hard this weekend, again. Love to Whoreshack for taking me to his old haunts and stomping grounds in Chicago and to one of the best Jeff Tweedy solo sets in the history of Jeff Tweedy solo sets. Love Fest 2014 was mind blowing. Check out this set list.
New Madrid Born Alone Bob Dylan's 49th Beard At Least That's What You Said You And I Hummingbird Radio Cure At My Window Sad And Lonely One True Vine Nothing'severgonnastandinmyway(again) Nothing Up My Sleeve (aka Anniversary) Wishful Thinking Shouldn't Be Ashamed I'm Only Sleeping [The Beatles] Pink Moon [Nick Drake] I Can't Keep From Talking (Golden Smog) Someday Soon Summer Teeth Smile (Nat King Cole) The Community Song God (John Lennon) Pecan Pie (requested as "Peac0ck Pie") Kicking Television ELT Gun ------------------------------- You Are Not Alone Dreamer In My Dreams
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Man. This thread just made me seriously depressed over my recent break up (recent-ish. Broke up 3 months ago after a 7 year relationship).... I forgot how nice it is to have someone.
Specifically Jess & Chels. Congrats to both of you.

Take the opportunity to focus on yourself for a while. The more secure you get in yourself, the better your next relationship will be.
So about a month into whatever it was, we double dated in Boston with her friend and friend's fiancee. Was at a Newbury Comics, and the guy was looking for ICP albums and complained they were in the bargain bin. Shortly after, it was mentioned all of them went to ICP shows whenever they had stops in Worcester.

Met this girl on my vacation and we hit it off instantly and hung out for a few days, I've never felt so comfortable around someone before for such a little amount of time we've known. Just a big crush... plus she's 7 years older than me and 7 hours away. Our lives go in separate directions even though we can keep in touch. This happens to me a lot I feel. Just venting after some brews.
