This year I am going with a pretty large group of people.
I'm considering putting something unique and glow-y on the top of a tall pole, so our group can find each other in centeroo... (also to have something cool looking to bounce around with at some LN acts)
Anyone have experience with making something like this? I've seen people with them before, but will I have trouble getting something like this in centeroo?

i was planning on doing one of these too, but decided id rather save the cash and get more spicy pie in centeroo. i cant imagine they give you trouble... that kind of thing would be nearly impossible to sneak in. keep in mind that you have to drive to roo with it in your car too.

I use old tent poles, they fold nice and are pretty strong, and you can attach big ballon with glowstick, or at boating stores they sell a strobe light that is supposed to attach to a life jacket, very bright, could duck tape at end of pole. My crew and I use, left over light gadgets that like CVS sells for memorial day, they look like 1-2' long mini light sabers, and only cost $3. So we by a bunch and pass em out to everyone.
Remember the guy last year who walked around with the Sims green diamond spinning over his head all weekend? It was pretty tall and he had it everywhere in Centeroo; there must be a way to sneak something that large into Centeroo.

i remember that guy! that was wicked cool i bet he didn't have to sneak it in though. they probably just let him go, id consider it a costume or something like that rather then a flag but its definitely one of the best nighttime getup's iv seen on the farm

last time i was at bear creek i was over hearing to guys talking and they called these things "rage sticks" one dude had a long flag pole with naked barbie dolls on the end with glow sticks, the other dude just had a upside down mop head. i guess there kinda funny to watch during a show as long as they are long enough not to block views.
FYI, i think the official ruling to get these into Centeroo was they had to be under 3ft tall.
I didn't have much of a problem getting mine through on Thursday, but Saturday was tough because a security manager was at the gate. After some reasoning, he told me if i could get it down to 3ft he'd let me in with it... thankfully I was able to.

I saw someone getting his wooden pole broken so they could search for something. Apparently some people had snuck things into Centeroo in a pole/post like that and then were using whatever it was to hit people with.
My favorite flag was the one for Camp Closet, which we were two rows down from—a metallic gold flag with R Kelly printed on it. I wish I had gotten a photo!
I was also pretty amped to see someone waving a giant Maryland flag onstage at Santigold.

These things need to go. They are obnoxious and obstruct the view. Before you know it everyone is going to have one and no one is going to be able to see the stage.
