Last year we drove a RV from Charlotte to Bonnaroo...We went through the Mountains. This year we would like to avoid the Mountains...We arent expericenced RV drivers so trying to find another route.
Found a way to go from Charlotte to ATL then back up to Manchester. It only adds 30miles and only 5mins extra drive time.
How is the Drive from ATL to Manchester? Mostly HWY? few Mountains?
We come from Wilmington NC and always take that route. From Atlanta it's basically a straight shot on 24. Mostly flat, no stranger traffic than usual and if you're driving an RV I would think it might actually save you time.
How bad was it with the RV in the mountains. Last year no pop up but took the ATL route. Trying to avoid the craziness that is Atlanta this year but opted for a pop-up. Be honest we can still change our route!

ATL traffic is pretty hectic at times, especially around 4-7pm. But the ride up on I75 to Chattanooga is not that bad, a little mountainous at times, but nothing intense.
