Hi lovely inforoo-ers!
This is my first Bonnaroo, though I'm a Coachella veteran!
Since I live locally in the Baxter, TN area, I'm planning on just driving out each day and using day parking - but there doesn't seem to be a lot of information out there on how that works.
I'm planning on coming on Friday, probably in the morning sometime. Does anyone have any experience with what the wait times might be if I do this?
And, how far is day parking from the actual stages and such? Is it stack parking, so I'll be stuck until everyone else leaves?

yo day parking has always been by the west entrance near bushy branch road, and is about a 20-30 minute walk, which is about average walking time for most campers. Like my wife says, you can pull in or out anytime, but you can never leave. JK you can leave whenever dude.
Hi all! I am also a Bonna-virgin. So excited for less-than 1 week countdown. I don't know if anyone can answer: Due to our work schedules and longgg travels (15+ driving hours), we won't be arriving until Friday around 5 pm. What is the parking like for people who arrive this late to the fest? Will we still even be able to get in with our car and tent? Thanks for any info, and look forward to next weekend.

You can still get parked with your car on Friday. They will just stick you wherever they have spots. It is so unpredictable. You will hear people who come in late and get great spots and others who get terrible spots. But getting in shouldn't be an issue
I am a regular day parker. Someone already mentioned the walk time. The time to get in the festival can differ. I have driven straight up and been waived through security but it has also taken about 30 to 40 minutes to get in. If you are planning to go in before a certain act, give yourself at least an hour on top of the normal drive time to the grounds. Most people are already on the grounds by Thursday. Last year, I day parked on Thursday (a first for me) and got in the grounds within 30 mins from leaving the interstate. One suggestion take as little as possible to the festival. If you take a cooler, leave it in your back seat until you park. It will make going through security a lot quicker. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Wow, you guys are all so awesome! Thanks for the info, I feel so much better now knowing a bit more what I'm getting in to. I'm just about to explode all over the place with excitement for getting to see Radiohead! Amongst about a million others, of course, but still.
Does anyone on this board know each other and meetup at the fest?
Hi - is there a separate day parking area for VIP? I'm going VIP but staying in a hotel vs. camping. Parking info is a little sparse. Any info is appreciated!
We are locals and do day parking every year. We get there Friday afternoon and have never had more that a few minute wait. If you get lucky, you can get a festitaxi to take you close to the arch. The walk is nice thought. The Bonnaroo scenery is beautiful. We're going to try parking Thursday this year and see what happens.

No seperate VIP day parking. The set up is pretty good, you should have no problem. Just make sure you enter the right gate.

With the festival opening the gates earlier, it is do able. I did it last year with no issues.
I'm trying figure something out. If you park in day parking and start walking up that main road, 9th. St. I think it is, and take one of the first roads to your left, that should take you to Shakedown, shouldn't it? I know how to get there from ceneteroo but I've never tried it from day parking.

Here's another question - now that I've decided to suck it up and camp *quavers* - how on EARTH do you guys get all your camping equipment from your cars to the camping areas? I'm all by myself and don't know how I'm going to do it, short of making 5 million trips!

If your camping, they'll direct you to a camp and you'll have 2 choices. Either set up camp right behind your car, or hike all your equipment to TENT ONLY.
