What kind of tent is expected to be brought. Im headed to Bonnaroo this year with 5 of my friends, and they want to bring a 12 man tent. I say that this will be too big and unnecessary. What are your thoughts? Do we have a limited area for camping? This is my first year btw!!!
I wouldn't bring a 12 person tent if youve only got 5 people unless you plan on hanging in the tent mostly which could be unbearable in the heat. My groups got 5 people bringing 2 - 4 person tents. So our campsite will have room for an ez up for hangout space too.

This. I'm guessing the means no ezup? Ditch the massive tent and find an ezup. You will suffer badly with a massive tent that nobody wants to be in and no other shade available at your campsite.
From experience the tent will only be liveable during dark. Daylight (which arrives prior to 6 am) and that thing will heat up.
If you and your friends plan on crashing when's it's night time no big deal, you'll probably have just enough space.
But if you have artists on your late night schedule and you plan on sleeping in the morning count that tent out without a canopy cover. It will heat up pretty bad.
My advice is find an EZ up canopy or two to put over the tent.

My favorite set-up consists of Ez-up's only. Get a tarp or something you can drop down for privacy and roll up if there is a breeze. We just sleep under the ez-up...just store whatever u sleep on/in under ur vehicle during the day so you have hang out area.
