I smell a troll. You could've stated your opinion in a way that wasn't asinine and mean, but instead you chose to be insulting. That kind of behavior won't earn you any friends here.
I beg to differ. klimfactor and jdhill88 both liked it
I also find it interesting you have the need to grant 'attitude adjustment's, yet are unable to have anyone grant them to yourself
All I'm saying is try to be a little nicer. No one wants to post their opinion on here only to get shat on by someone that thinks they're incorrect.
Like I said, how does this prove that they "sold out" at 80k? I gave out a few new wristbands myself last year, it wasn't any different than the previous five years in terms of getting tickets at the gate. I was personally involved in a new ticket purchase last year at the west toll booth. I was told by supervisors (as usual) where to direct people for ticket purchase. It's all news to me that they announced that there would be no more ticket purchases, even though it was business as usual in terms of directing people where to go for getting tickets.
By the way, I wasn't listening in on those convos, I was a part of them. I have a radio, that I constantly use to relay information to my supervisors and Site Ops. When I ask "did we hit 80k yet?" and a returning toll booth supervisor responds with "we hit that 6 hours ago," it's much more than listening to a convo with no context.
Just going off the 80k figure they give out publicly as their sell out. I can't imagine a significant number are sold at the gate when they announce the sell out weeks prior. It may be news to you, but they did announce it on Facebook which would influence most people's decision on whether to show up without a ticket yet or not.
I really was just joking around in that last post, but your info was really vague and I just wanted to hear more. When clingers-on and various underlings such as yourself deploy phrases like "overheard xxx info," "dude will be a very happy man," and other meaningless or game of telephone acquired info ya gotta take it with a grain of salt. Especially considering the number of people who speak on here as if they have authority when they really know quack all. Myself included at times haha. Glad you clarified on that stuff and it really is interesting to find this stuff out from someone who knows a bit.
So again, does the 80k refer to attendees or everyone on the farm? I also assume that they naturally go slightly over that number, but I was thinking more of the difference between 81k and 90k. Thanks for the clarifications.
Could the tickets they had to sell at the gate post sell-out be from extra tickets due to payment plans that went awry on the last payment?
You should get to know our good friends Coachella, ACL, and Glastonbury.
Forgot about coachella n those, burning man also sold out this year. I had much corn this morning, was so stuffed I wasn't thinking 100% clear. *Most fests won't turn people away, until every square inch of the farm is full, and I've seen it full (05,06), they wont. Gonna be bat country..
Why so much negativity? Roo is like 3 days away. Everyone needs to take a deep breath, stop worrying about ticket sales and marketing classes, and be exicted that in a few short days it will be time.
That being said I expect a lot of people, but not as much as last year.

Wolfman, the radio station policy might be standard most years but in 2010 the radio station sold tickets to anyone. My group is from pa and multiple people got them there before we went in.
I'm sure they've sold the vast majority of tickets this year, but at this point I don't think they're going to sell out. You can buy tickets on Craiglist right now for well under $200 (I've seen advertised as low as $120). For whatever reason the demand isn't there this year.
Cite you have limited supply to facilitate a higher demand and draw people on the fence over to your side and buy your merchandise. It's not too hard to figure out
I posted on craigslist in the baltimore area I wanted a ticket for $150, and I had a shit ton of replies before i could get the post down. I paid $150. I don't think ticket sales are as brisk this year. I've been to 10 of 11 roo's, and I haven't seen this in many years.
Not in my area the last few years, but PM me where you live so I can check your craigslist area next year. I wait until the last second and always get them below face, but it was super easy and early this year. I should have waited and paid $100.
There are definitely not as many people. I drove in at 10am and had zero traffic. The police weren't even manning the traffic at the gas station near the west toll booth. There were maybe 20 cars in front of me. Crazy. They had filled none of the campgrounds from 7th ave (part of the star wars camps) to the Zoolander camps. Completely empty. Camp Chewbacca to the entrance was filled but they're doing fire lanes this year. No more being stuck in the middle of a camp area. Two rows of cars (with tents in the middle) and then a fire lane. The horses were clearing out pop-ups and such people had set up in the "fire lanes". So, less people taking up more space.
In the last 10 years, I've never seen it like this. Unless a ton of people are arriving late or they stuffed them across the street into Spicoli (empty last year) and such, I'm guessing 20k less than last year.
1) VIP parking is as full as I have every seen it. 2) The crowd in Centeroo on Thursday was larger this year in my opinion. 3) Rode the farris wheel on Thursday and was really surprised to see so many empty parking spaces. Maybe they have added more parking or everyone is just carpooling. 4) Several changes, with more restrooms, water, and shade. Can't wait to see how that works out. 5) Thursday evening was cool and comfortable. Hope the weather stays like this for the weekend! 6) Love the changes in the VIP camping area.

BFE was completely empty this year. I did a walkabout of my Pod 10 neighborhood on Friday morning and was stunned to see that. Everything east of Pocatella was completely vacant.

I'm guessing 72K.
Yeah, we noticed on the way out (thanks TPD for that 30 minute scenic tour that we were forced to take back to I 24) that none of those campsites were filled. Sellout my ass. Although I will say that I have never been so crammed into my GA campsite than we were this year. Did anyone else notice their spot was smaller or did I just get unlucky? We were between Pods 2 & 3.
