Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
So I'm 15 and I'll be leaving for Bonnaroo wednesday with my twin brother and parents. I was wondering if there were any other kids my age who go to 'roo and if you had any tips for me. One of my main questions is what it is like going to concerts past 12 am at Centeroo. I'm trying to catch later concerts partly to see some of my favorite acts and partly to get away from my mom and dad and have some fun. Thanks!

I brought my son to his first when he was 16 and his friend was 15. Make sure you drink enough. I think teens take that for granted. Be careful. You will have a blast.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

drink lots of water, pace yourself, make sure u know where to meetup with ur group when u go out on ur own. its a marathon, more than a race. and be careful.
that being said my only advice on how to have the best time is be yourself and enjoy what you want, lots of people enjoy bonnaroo in different ways and each persons is unique. you dont have to do certain to things to enjoy bonnaroo, the only thing you have to do is be yourself and be open to the music! and MOST IMPORTANTLY: have an awesome time!!!
When i was your age i went to some of the first Lallapaloozas. I went with friends i wish my mother would of come. You're pretty lucky to have such cool parents. Stay hydrated, bring a towel, try to have a buddy at all times, take many pictures, make memories. Don't take candy from strangers, haha...But certainly bond with your parents. Music, especially live music is a great way to unwind and be yourself.

1. Drink lots of water. Keep some with you in Centeroo. 2. Plan on using plenty of sunscreen unless your are already very tan or have darker skin. You can get a BAD sunburn on Thursday alone and suffer for three more days. 3. Don't eat the brown acid. 4. Study a map of the grounds and get oriented as soon as you arrive. Make a mental note of where your campsite is in relation to the pod markers, etc., just in case.
I'm 15 and already been to 2 bonnaroos and I can say that the dehydration thing didn't affect me too much. I didn't drink a lot and I was fine. As for late night shows, they are pretty cool depending on who the artist is. Scissor Sisters last year was the most fun I've ever had at a late night show. (And btw the creatures of the night come out for the late night shows, so take some time and do some sightseeing!)

That's your call if you didn't want drink a lot of water but please don't pass this advice on to other people.
when you are in centeroo with someone, have a place to meetup if you get lost. sometimes when a show lets out you can get separated easily. often phones dont work there. agree to meet up at the silent disco or the farris wheel if you get separated. my friend and i missed 20 minutes of a show and i missed out on a great spot to see the flips because we couldnt find each other
First off, congrats on going to Bonnaroo. I wish something of this scale was around when I was 15. Just remember it is a marathon, not a sprint. Pace yourself and drink LOTS of water. Don't be afraid to take breaks. Enjoy the moment. Have a reconnect point to go if you get separated. Don't assume you will have cell service, make sure to have a place and time to meet just in case.
Go see a band you have never heard of before. Just pick one that sounds intoxicatingly good to you. See some shows with your parents. You might just find out that they are way cooler than you ever thought and you might not always have the chance to see one with them.
If you get the opportunity, come to the Inforoo Brunch. Mingle with the others who enjoy music and you might find new music as well as new friends. Also, Late Night shows can/are epic but again, pace yourself.
Most important: cherish the time on the farm. It is indeed amazing and time will fly by.

1. Drink lots of water (this can't be said enough)
2. Wear sunscreen. The sun down is unforgiving, so don't get burned.
3. Have some downtime / catch some shade in the heat of the day. Though the weather is looking pretty nice, it's going to get hotter as the weekend progresses.
if you want to stay up all night then grab some downtime between shows. i can usualy rest on the ground between shows. this makes a huge difference over the entire weekend and also helps with dehydration
remember that if you fall asleep for a long period to drink IMMEDIATELY. i feel asleep in the day last year which i never do and i work up very very drained and with a headache from being in the sun with no water for a couple of hours.
Remember that not everyone at bonnaroo is as nice as the folks on this board. Meet up spots are crucial, when we all came into centeroo last year we picked a vendor, and met there at the end of each mainstage set. If people stayed to keep spots, we would send a "scout" to fetch the people waiting. Made things easy. Kept us together.
Water - Water - Water. Your body will perform better, and you'll have more energy if you are hydrated. Our bodies like water. Make it happy, it'll make you happy.
Brunch - Apparantley you'll meet tons of people that are cool. Knowing people is awesome.

My advice, in addition to what everyone else has said, would be keep the lines of communication open with your parents. Chances are they're probably already pretty cool since they're taking you to Bonnaroo. However, keep in mind that your safety is the most important--what your parents think of you and if you will get in trouble come far far behind. Should you make a decision while away from them to hook up, drink, partake in party favors (not saying you will, and not condoning it, but I remember what it was like to be 15 and excited/curious), and should you start to feel strange or ill AT ALL, tell your parents and get yourself to a medical tent. Know where the closest place to get help is at all times.
seriously though during the day try and stay hydrated like everyones said and get to explore and know the grounds decently well cause it can be confusing at night for first timers
also- the friday and saturday late night shows are like another dimension. go see them and have your mind blown.. there are also a lot of shady and intoxicated people doing stupid things (well the whole time, but especially at night) so keep your wits about you and be careful
