Just a heads up: they are reducing the speed limit on I-24 for this weekend to assist in traffic flow.
From News Channel 5:
The Tennessee Department of Transportation, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Manchester Police, the Coffee County Sheriff's office, along with festival promoters said they will help keep traffic moving on Interstate 24. For the first time, the speed limit will be reduced to 55 miles per hour along I-24 between mile marker 104.6 and mile marker 129.4. It will go back to normal after the festival ends.
Here is the link to the article... don't want anyone getting a speeding ticket on the way to Roo! Safe travels everyone!!!
The article did not state it was being posted.. so assuming psychedecnick is correct... we just all better be on our p's and q's to avoid getting pulled over since the majority of us are from out of state and would not know the "new" speed limit if it is not posted...
That's pretty crazy that they will be able to get away with pulling people over when this new speed limit won't be posted anywhere.
You literally have no proof that'll be the case out there. When construction happens they post up temporary limits. I'd expect the same out there. Not saying your idea won't be the case, but you're going purely off conjecture. Plus, with thousands of cars lined up on the side of the road and drunk people stumbling around to get out and piss, wouldn't you feel a bit safer with a lower limit?
Has speed been a real issue in the past?
It is blatantly obvious what they are doing...
I'm just saying, even if this new limit wasn't posted anywhere, they would get away with ticketing people. I'm betting tickets and arrests account for a certain, albeit small, percentage of the counties revenue during Bonnaroo.
Yea, TN police, and southern police in general are pretty effed up. This just happened again recently when I think he was a real estate guy, got pulled over in TN, had $20k on him, didn't get arrested but got his money taken away.
I mean, it's Tennessee, it's in the bible belt, does "Though shalt not steal" ring a bell?
Although it was (extremely) suspicious how the money was packaged (the video you linked to), but suspicious behavior is not a crime, no druqs were found in the truck... etc. No crime was committed. It's ridiculous.
They'll likely have programmable road signs giving a heads up on Bonnaroo traffic like they've done in the past. Perhaps they will flash the speed change too.
Don't be in a rush folks! Law enforcement will be out in mass this week waiting for someone to trip up. Keeping both hands on the wheel and minding the speed limit will help ensure you make it to Bonnaroo without incident.

I hate to break this to you but it is all cops, everywhere who do this. Not just ones in the south.
It's only 12.5 miles in each direction. The reduction in speed limit is probably more for your safety than it is to get you. Thru traffic will be affected more than you guys. They will have to post speed limit signs because the speed limit is 70 and nothing would hold up in court if you were doing 70 or below without signs posted alerting you otherwise. Paranoid much? One thing you guys should get out of that article is the TDOT 511 number for traffic information. Also, here are the numbers to get a HELP truck if your car is disabled on the interstate.

They seized Camp zoe from jimmy teabeau for civil forfiture.. so no more schwagstock
Yea, I was reading all about that. That case should get thrown out. They seized his money because people were selling druqs on his property during the fest. He could claim ignorance to this, but everyone knows it goes on.
That was like a big undercover operation. I think it had a code name and everything.
It sucks too, because that festival was cheap with good acts and I only live a couple hours away in St. Louis. Bummer dudes...
