I did some on-site volunteer work this past saturday for what I thought was going to be a GA wristband....but when I got my e-mail today with the pick-up instructions for the wristband, IT IS A GUEST PASS!!! so excited about this! I don't think i'm going to be able to camp in guest camping because I will be with 4 others, but the other perks look fantastic! does anyone have any experience with guest passes? this will be my 6th bonnaroo, but first with this kind of access...
Going off of what I first thought when I got my email are you sure it is a guest pass? Because I thought the same thing. My email kept talking about guest credentials and then when I clicked on the attachment it showed that they were Patron or GA bands.
Yes, a Guest pass *is* more than GA. But don't expect it to be full Media or even VIP.
Guest passes allow you to enter the Media/Press areas behind the main stages. You can't go on the stages or into the Artist Food area behind the Which Stage (although it'll look & smell so good, you'll really want to!), but you can use the air-conditioned bathrooms & showers. Those are located between the What & Which stages. You MIGHT have walk-up access the pit for those stages without having to wait, but I'm not sure. Definitely check on that!
There are walking paths behind the two main stages, so if you want to cut down on crowd traffic, that's a great way to do it! You'll likely see artists coming & going and/or zooming by on golf carts.
You can always ask a security person at the entrances what the pass entitles you to. The last time I did Media/Guest was in '08, so things may have changed.
Enjoy it! And thanks for volunteering! That was cool of you.
