Very slim. Possible, but not likely. It really depends on what gate you come in and what the traffic is looking like at the time at that gate. Generally, I think Thursday afternoon is one of the worst waits. Even in the best possible conditions, you might have a chance at getting on site at 7:30, but getting there and getting over to Centeroo, through security and to the tent where he's performing seems very unlikely. Leave earlier if at all possible.
That being said... in 2008, I had a class Thursday that I couldn't miss, so I didn't leave home (Dalton, GA, ~30 minutes south of Chattanooga) until after 1:00pm. I was in Centeroo by 4:00pm. However, since I was staying with family in Manchester, I parked off-site and walked half a mile or so onto the property, past all of the traffic, so I didn't have any wait. It almost felt like cheating getting there so quick. So, anything can happen, I guess.

I would like to know the average wait time coming thursday at different times of the day. We should do a study for that.
I was thinking about leaving Cincinnati at 2 am or so... and I'm trying to figure out how long the line might be. I think that puts my group in Manchester by 8 am-ish.

No way to tell from what I have seen. I am in the Dayton area, and in 08 we left about 12am and got to Manchester at like 7am (their time, important to remember that little time change!). We waited 5 hours in line to get in and get searched and all. Last year we left at about 10:30 pm or so and get there about and hour earlier. Wisked off the highway and back to the back gates by the Staties. We waited for about 10 minutes at the gate and parked within half an hour.

I live in Chattanooga and I just can't wait to leave. I will be leaving late Wednesday night and campin out at walmart. Then leaving wally world at around 1 or 2. If I was you I would do the same.
yeah doesn't sound too good.... but who knows you might get a miracle! it's honestly a total crapshoot as to how long your wait in line will be. depends on the exit. your route, random chance and luck really.
heres hoping a miracle happens for you, i love miike snow too
We're not going to be able to make it until late Thursday night. Has anyone went that late and how was the traffic? We typically have arrived early Thursday morning.
That's three hours at probably their peak entrance time to get from Chattanooga to your campsite. not.possible.
Bear in mind that there is a time change between Chattanooga and Manchester, despite the short distance. That gives you four hours. I still think that's pushing it though, since traffic, even in the later afternoon hours, can still be significant. If you hit a short-ish line and run into Centeroo, it's possible you might catch some of the set. I still think it's pushing it. If there's any way you can leave earlier that would be better.
When I saw Baroness on the schedule 5:45 for Thursday, I dropped all hope of seeing them. I doubt with the stories of lines I could get there on time. Even if I tried off-site parking or day parking.
Well unless you specifically have a reason why you can't be there on Wednesday, you can. Somewhere between 6pm and midnight on Wednesday, every year, they open the gate. You get put in BFE, but you are in.
I live in Valley, Alabama (1 hr and 45 south of Atlanta)....My first 2 Roo's we left about 11 pm Wed. night and got there about 6 am. Sat on the side of the interstate til 9 or so. It worked out great since we got the RV section pretty close to centeroo. I plan on doing to same tomorrow although I may leave about 7pm.
Unfortunately, do to summer classes/work schedules, we are leaving Thursday around noon from Knoxville. Any recommendations for coming in from the East? (We've come from the Nashville area the past two years...) And at what time do you think i'll have the car parked on the farm?

Total crapshoot. The past two times I've been to Bonnaroo I've come from Knoxville. It'll take you about 1 1/2 to 2 hours elapsed (including time change) to get there. From the east you have the benefit of not having to turn around, as all traffic into the festival enters from the east. Your wait could be anywhere from 45 minutes to 6 hours. Keep your fingers crossed for the former.
EDIT: Awesome points for actually searching for an old thread that addressed your question rather than starting a new one. Bravo!
Last year I hit Exit 127 about 1 p.m. on Thursday and drove right up to the gate. The only wait I had was the usual processing at the gate ... maybe 5 minutes tops. (The downside was being stuck in BFE.)
Getting in last year was great, which means this year I'll probably be in line for 8 hours. That's how Bonnaroo rolls. You never know from year to year.
I know I replied to this a couple of years ago, but I'll come back to say it's much more possible, to the point of being more likely than not that you can get in really quick on Thursday afternoon. Since they officially open the gates on Wed night now, the big traffic clog is in the middle of the night to early morning Thursday. Last year, I just rolled up to the gate on Thursday afternoon, with no wait at all. The only time in my 5 previous years at Bonnaroo that I didn't sit in line. Assuming it goes that way again, you can easily see the Thursday evening shows if you get to Manchester just a couple of hours before. The biggest time sink will probably be getting from your car to the stage, depending on where you're parked.

I was really hoping something like this would be the case. Last year I landed in line around 10pm and didnt get set up until 6am. I figured this year my crew can get in line about 6am to 7am and have less of a wait. Heres to hoping!
