I feel like this year, you actually were rewarded with a good camp spot if you got there Wednesday night.
Last year, we got there super early on Wednesday night, and parked all the way in the back corner (Camp Stewie Griffin). I know we aren't the only ones who that happened to either (obviously)
This year, we arrived maybe two hours after last year, and were directed to Camp Adrian--super close to Centerroo!
Is it really that a few hours make a difference, or did they learn to not piss of a bunch of people this year?
we were just talking about how they should put you closer to centeroo the earlier you get there. as many people were saying, they didn't fill up all the camp sites. why not start at the front and rainbow out so that people are only in BFE if needed?? seems like a better idea to me.

sounds like a good idea that caters to campers, but that would only increase teh wait time at first and the traffic outside pre bonnaroo.... imagine all the early early arrivals... hence teh strategy of not having a set parking strategy (or a public one)

Lots of folks who got there early got locked in the BFE Concentration Camp and couldn't get out to Tents Only until 8am. Consider yerself lucky. I was too. Got redirected around the back roads and ended up at the gates 2nd in line. After waiting 6-12 hrs most years, I was ecstatic!

Hi there! That was my story. I rolled into the area around 2:00. They routed me up the back roads from exit 127(?) where we waited for about 30 minutes before they had us circle around and get in the back of the line on Mcminville(?) hwy. We got parked in the far back corner of pod 1 by the tree line. And you certainly heard correct about them not letting anyone out of Pod 1 until 8am Thurs. The Horse Lady as she became lovingly known was threatening to cut off anyones wrist band who tried to escape.
A group of us who were planning on Tent Only set up camp near the entrance to pod 1 in a corner. Some in my group referred to it as camp TORC (Tent Only Refugee Camp). We slipped out under the cover of darkness while the mounties weren't looking around 4am and got a spot in Tent Only that was not even 50 yards from the arch! Super sweet! But when I went back to my car on Friday to resupply I saw that some of those folks must have gave up hope of grabbing a space in TO and just camped in the corner for the remainder of the fest. I felt kinda bummed for them.
It was cool meeting you this weekend whoreshak! I didn't recognize you untill I qouted you.
We went off exit 127 and took all backroads, there was no traffic at all and we pretty much went right through the toll booth and was at our campsite in just a few minutes. It was 12:45-1 ish and we were put in Pod 10.
We got there around 2:00 or 2:30, and were also parked in Camp Adrian. Total mind blowing experience as I was not expecting that.
Yeah, high fives were given all around in our car. We came in straight from the interstate, and I really could not believe it. It was pretty much a straight shot from the tollbooth to our spot. I remember having to take backroads last year--a completely different route than this year

we got through within 10 minutes of the gate being opened off bushy branch at 4pm on wednesday. not surprisingly we were sent out to camp M in pod 1 - but like cokewhoreisland, experienced the pod 1 lockdown and couldn't make it to tent only. although it worked out fantastically, i wouldn't hate being a little closer to centeroo. it definitely makes more sense to fill the front/closer to centeroo first - i can't believe there were open campsites!!
I got there around midnight and ended up back behind The Other Ferris Wheel past Pod 9. I was less than enthused. (Ended up hauling my lazy butt over to Tent Only.)
