Anyone else bummed by the removal of the classic Which Stage sign? Thought the ? looked cool at night, but the old Which Stage look was so sleek and classic! The all red curtains were amazing, I was very disappointed to see some blue in there. Thought it cheesed it up a little.
Not a big deal, of course, but did anyone else feel this way?
Loved that they got rid of the bleachers. Never noticed that the Which sign was missing until just reading that. The curtains blowing and obstructing the screen was a bit frustrating. Seems like the sound was solid there this year but I didn't see a lot of acts there.
I was bummed to see the sign gone but the question mark was pretty cool. I agree they should definitely tie down those curtains. They kept getting in the way of the screen during the shins
I spent a total of 15 minutes at the which stage this year. I don't really care what they do design wise, but I LOVE they got rid of those bleachers. The pit fence did not bother me either.

the new VIP area is the shizzzzzz..so many more people can fit in there COMFORTABLY and not be herded on that bleacher. much love and gracias to the people who made that happen
I was bummed about the blue curtains and that they did away this the sign. I also get slightly irritated when I'm trying to watch a show at the Which and I can't hear it because of the band playing in the Broo'ers festival area. It is always SO LOUD and right in the middle of sets I'm trying to see. This year for The Kooks, Feist and the Shins I had to move far to the left and forward to be able to hear the performers on the Which at all. This was tough with a big group, but my boyfriend I and were able to get good spots when we went off on our own. They really just need to turn it up over there!

I dont care how it looks, I would rather them correct the sound. I just dont get how Skrillex overtook the whole festival and every other show there I had to get up close or the sound was too light. I got up really close for Childish Gambino and the sound was still too soft. I couldnt understand some of his lyrics and he is a pretty clear MC.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

I liked the ? and the curtains, but I agree that they should have been tied down better. From the left side they covered up the screen a lot.
Also, the red poof in the middle on the top looked like a set of lips with a tongue sticking way out. I thought that was pretty cool.
However, I would rather them kept the screen on the LEFT side of the stage, instead of moving it to the right, if they are not going to spring for another screen. getting up under the trees on the left side during the day is nice, and sitting down or laying down and watching the screen is nice. Now that the bleachers are gone, there is a great angle on the right side so the screen isn't really as necessary over there as it is on the left.
I like the new pit area and the new VIP area. Very nice for everyone IMO. I watched a bunch of shows from Which this year and other than the curtains covering some of the screen I thought it was great. The sound seemed fine to me
And FWIW I don't get why people are saying the sound was not loud enough at Bon Iver. I could hear it well from both spots I watched from.
VIP's got WAY too much room on the right. Kind of ridiculous and insulting to everyone who can't afford it.
I have to disagree, and only for one reason. The VIP area at What isn't all that great. I mean, yeah it is up on a hill, and they get chairs and all that, but it isn't very CLOSE.
So they give them more room at Which. They pay a lot of money for that privilege, and should enjoy a few extra perks when it comes to extra room close to at least one stage.

I was VIP this year and can not afford it. Luckily I got a free wristband. The VIP area should definitely stay there. I will say though that it is way to big. They could have made it rectangular instead of a gigantic wedge and been fine. I was never in the VIP pit because the artist pit was never full and they always let me in. None of them knew what was going on all weekend though. They reserved that pit for artist and guest but the laminated sheet at the entrance had VIP and GA wristbands on it. While we are on the subject I don't understand why there isn't anything like this in the tents. They had the artist pits on both sides and there is so much side stage area there and the pits were never full.

I liked the question mark, but I don't think taking the name off the stage was the best idea. We're all so used to it that we forget how confusing the stage/tent names can be to newbies, but I definitely overheard a few newbies who were quite confused. Arguing amongst themselves about which stage (har!) they were at, etc.

You know, now that you mention it, that explains why I got stopped a couple of times by people as which stage Which Stage was! I just thought that they were disoriented but the fact that it wasn't signed up probably explains it, too.

I thought the question mark was pretty cool. The sign was classic though, wish they could have integrated both the question mark and the sign together. And (drum roll, please) the sound still lacked this year. Childish was having problems with the sound and NEEDTOBREATHE and Devil Makes Three both were way too soft.
