Phish did this at Superball. I'm not insane enough to participate but I was camped near the starting line and it was fun as hell to watch.
I just can't imagine wanting to run in a race at a 4 day camping festival, but a ton of people did it at SBIX. the winners got to come on stage and get trophies from the band. pretty cool.

I saw several singles and couples running in the mornings. Kudos to them for keeping their training regimens up. I did mine with the walks to and fro pod 1.

Right? Kudos to them, although the weather was very forgiving if one wanted to perform such an activity!
Intriguing Idea~ I think this could be entertaining.
I'm in. I would totally do this. I definitely did not run at the festival. I feel like being there walking around in the sun all day is plenty of exercise, but I could totally get into an organized race on Friday morning... would keep me from getting too wasted on Thursday night too - hopefully making Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights a bit easier to make it through. ;D
Interesting, I'm not running it but my son might run the 5k at Floydfest. Nothing nearly as formal as you're talking about, at least as far as I've seen.
Bonnaroo 2008-2013
0ct 11 Pearl Jam
Oct 12 Pearl Jam
March 16 Arcade Fire
April 29 Arcade Fire
Sept 4 Wilco
Sept 9 The Hold Steady
Oct 16 Pearl Jam
Oct 17 Gaslight Anthem
I'd do it if it happened early, early on Friday morning (to avoid heat). Hey if Roo doesn't make it an official thing there's no reason we couldn't throw one together!
t-shirts are a must I believe. No 5k is complete without good shirts.
It'd be cool if they did a charity type thing and then let a certain number of winners or top finishers have some type of special perk like meet & greet with artists or all access for a day or something like that.
