Great article you found here. The possible shifting of next years dates by a week surprised me. It sounds like local elected officials are for it, but I bet AC/Superfly isn't so keen on the idea. It's always been the first full weekend in June, correct? We'll see what happens. The dates have to be decided soon if they're going to do an early presale again.
Did anybody read the bottom? That Roo might shift its dates back a week next year?
I thought the article stated clearly that Roo's dates next year are June 13-16. They said it was already set that way by chance; I think Mayor Dean is hoping they will formally coordinate and stagger the dates every year.
EDIT: From the next to last paragraph in the article: "While a permanent solution is yet to be met, Spyridon says that next year, 'by good fortune,' the two festivals will transpire on different dates — with CMA happening June 6-9 and Bonnaroo slated for June 13-16. It's a change he'd like to make permanent."
I was just rereading that part as soon as you mentioned it LawnGnome. The first time I read it the tone sounded hopeful/wishful for June 13-16 but after rereading it sounds more like a legit statement that the dates will in fact be June 13-16. Maybe they got some insider confirmation on next years dates already.
If it's in your back yard then you have no excuses not to go! It must've been cool to see what the site was like for another event besides bonnaroo, even with Itchycoo being the clusterfuck that it was

I actually went to this. It was kind of fun, not crowded at all, music was ok. of course there was no centeroo then, just the main stage area. Rick SPringfield came out in the crowd while he wa playing and stood right next to us and played. kind of cool

A week earlier than it was this year and you run into Memorial Day weekend some years (although not this year). Any earlier than that and a lot of people are still in school.
Right now is the sweet spot because of the weather and no school, although I have to admit a week later is better for me from a scheduling standpoint.
A week later might help me get that week off. I had to beg for two days this year to go. Luckily, it worked! I had the week off AFTER 'Roo, but only took two days. I needed them to recover.
