In the last few years, its been disproportiately higher Inforoo people dying compared to non board members. Way higher than 25%.
I did not know Richard, but RIP. Inforoo is like family, and hate to lose one of our own - no matter how many degrees of separation.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
So sad to hear. Losing one of ours is terrible and a tragedy no matter what the circumstance. But as many of you have said here, he left us with Roo dust on his feet, and Roo spirit in his heart. It was the time I feel confident he would have wanted to leave this earth. RIP Richard - your Roo family loves you.

My wife and I had communicated with Rick a few times via the "Over 40 'Roo'ers" page on Facebook...super nice guy. What a heartbreaking shame. Our best to his friends, family and fellow Roo'ers! Jamie & Kat

I hope when its my time, it happens on the farm. If not I have instructions to sprinkle my ashes there. At 51 I don't have a lot of 'roos left.

I have been reading your posts and on behalf of Rick's high school graduating class would like to thank each and every one of you for your kind words. I personally knew Rick since elementary school. He was a brilliant man. We had lost touch until about three years ago and I am so grateful for all the good times we shared in renewing our friendship. I too had hope to meet up with him on the Sunday of Bonnaroo. I still continued with plans but with out my friend. This evening, two weeks after his death, our class honored his memory by meeting at the main gate of Bonnaroo. Our classmates that could not join us because of distance stepped outside at 7:30 pm CST or their appropriate time zone and released balloons. We used class colors of red and black with one white balloon. Rick wishes were to be cremated, no service, no memorial. He wanted his ashes to be spread at sea. His requests have been honored with the exception of this evening. I will miss my conversations with you and my pictures you send me of Tampa. But most of all, I will miss your *grins*, *smiles* and *winks*. God speed my friend, until we meet again.

Thank you for writing and joining the board! The outpouring of love for Rick has overwhelmed me, and I only knew him for 5 or 6 days over the course of 2 Roos. Despite the short time I had with him, I will remember him for the rest of my life. It is for Rick that I am still wearing my Roo wristband, and I too will miss the *grin* and *smile* and *wink* that accompanied each of his well-written emails. I am so glad you shared your story.

This is so sad. RIP...I did not know him but he sounds like someone I would have loved to be friends with. What a kind spirit and generous friend. I'm sure he would not have wanted to be anywhere else to pass than Bonnaroo. I know if I passed there, I would believe I already made it to heaven. Sleep well sweet Rvicke and we'll see you on the other side.
My friend Rick has been on my mind lately. This board is where we met, and this is where I come when I still feel overwhelmed by what I saw and felt that day, and in the ensuing months. He encouraged me to go back to school this semester and study computer programming, and I picked his brain for hours at our camp as he had been a programmer for many years. He helped inspire my old ass to go on back to school, and I felt him with me this semester, which was successful. I miss him every day.
