I'm managing Stan's paperwork this year... we won't have ANY lost drums. PROMISE!!! Last year was UTTERLY INSANE!! We had 60-70 people drunkenly leave names on scrap pieces of paper stuffed inside their drum shells and we had to finish and mail them.
This year NEW RULE: We are taking NO unfinished drums back with us. You start it. You finish it! START EARLY.
We are having a time cut-off... Folks MUST start building within 24 hours of festival end.
Also.... my apologies for A) the stress this caused the folks in this thread, and B) That I didn't see it until now.
Stan (the owner) is a super awesome guy who DOESNT use facebook, is bad at email, and travels ALL over the country ALL year long building drums at festival & workshops... PS... to the guy who said he was "high all the time"... I've been working with Stan for 8 years and I've never ONCE seen him high or even sip a glass of wine. 100% straight edge - all the time.
Anyway... thanks for all the feedback (positive and negative)....

I took my rebuilt drum in to get the head put on and strung this year. As always, the crew was extremely helpful. I was one of the 60-70 drunken people that left a drum last year (only i was stone sober as the awning on our RV had seized, and I'd spent two hours fixing it). It was hashed out in earlier threads, but I will add that I think creating an Inforoo profile, developing easier and more consistent means of communication will go a long way for this vendor. The crew works tirelessly at Bonnaroo, it's an incredible opportunity to create something that will last for years, and it is a lot of fun. As Dani has stated, the time involved in building the drum is much longer than one would expect. In my discussions with Stan over the last year, I told him more than once that giving an honest estimate of the time involved would make things easier for everyone involved.
I know for a fact that he wasn't pleased with the thread from last year, and we discussed it on the farm. Hopefully the trials of 2012 made the drum building experience even better for all of you that built drums this year. From what I saw this weekend, it seemed like a lot of people were building drums, and they looked to be enjoying it.
