About to start the last couple episodes. Had to take a break after they killed the best character in the most depressingly pointless way possible. I get that was the point but Terrence Winter can still eat a big turd.
I still haven't watched the last season simply because of that. Too depressed. There's taking out a favorite to reinforce that nobody is safe and then there's just being a dick.
They didn't have to make it seem like things were going to be fine.
It's good so far. Very different then what I expected but I like how this show takes chances with the storytelling. Shea Whigham and Micheal Shannon are killing it with the deadpan delivery. Lots of darkly funny lines.
I'm watching Donnie Darko for the first time this movie is fucking terrible so far
It's a rare opinion, but I definitely think it's one of the most overrated movies of the last 20 years or so. Only saving factors are a fantastic soundtrack and a good performance from Gyllenhaal. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's terrible, but it's pretty fucking bad, IMO. And not even enjoyably bad, just pretentiously bad... almost the worst kind of bad.
After months of my friend annoying me with, " i need to watch this show" talk, I finally gave this a go a few days after the finale aired. I was blown away that a show i could of sworn belonged on HBO or AMC (at the very least) was on USA. Highly recommended. Decided to rewatch it after talking a few coworkers into giving it a chance.
To start off one of my favorite annual traditions as a film fan, I'm going to watch this supposed classic horror movie that I've never seen (or at least in a decade)... if I feel it's worth it, I may include it in a group review in a post in the General Film Discussion thread down the line.

I don't think I've ever seen that one. I'd be interested in doing a "Slasher Classics" discussion series or something for October. Black Christmas, A Bay of Blood, etc. We could even branch it out into other sub-genres of horror too.

Yep. You were one of the people I had in mind. I bet we could find plenty neither of us have seen. And make recommendations.

Oh man! That Townes Van Zandt tribute by Dave and Gillian and Laura Marling was so good. Isbell playing Guy Clark and the Flaco Jiminez tributes were really good, but damn that TVZ segment.
